MMORPG Tentative title: Will of Fire
DISCLAIMER: This is an idea of a Naruto-based MMORPG. I don't think i am going to make this into game(no matter how much i want to). So, if anyone wants the idea, TAKE IT.
Will of Fire
Start of as a child in Konohagakure with dreams to follow your ninja way. Gain experience and slowly rise up in ranks to become Genin. Form a team with 2 other friends and a Jonin as sensei. Do missions, training, team battles together as a team. Learn unique clan jutsus, elemental jutsus, make summoning contracts. Pass the Chunin exam, then the Jonin exam. Guide your own team of Genin, or choose another path.
well, does sound cliche, but the part that appeals to me most is to be able to make a team with 2 friends(real life) and do stuff together. Oh, and the reason why its limited to Konohagakure is because there is not as much information on other villages to support the gameplay(like clans, Kekkei Genkai etc.). Also, I try to be as realistic and close to the manga as possible.
READ ON IF YOU LIKE A GAME THAT
-depends highly on your skills and less on equipment upgrade.
-allows you to customize your character to a very high degree.
-requires much teamwork and communication to progress.
HOW WILL A CHARACTER BE UNIQUE?
A character will have:
-Clan (at least 10 types)
-2 Element Affinities (5 different types + advanced nature transformation from 2 different types)
-1 Summoning Contract (at least 5 different types with Each type having a "Sage Mode")
-3 Weapons (at least 8 different types
-Appearance (Infinite combinations)
-Epithet like Konoha's Yellow Flash/Gaara of the Dessert/White Fang (Unique to Player)
-Outfit (many possibilities)
-FIGHTING STYLE (unique to player. Do you like to lay traps and lure enemies/rush towards enemies/attack from long-range etc.)
Without counting Appearance,epithet,outfit,fighting style, you will be 1 in 12000 ninjas. And there is no "BEST" combination, since any options would be based on your playing style.
Elemental affinity: Wind + Lightning
Summoning Contract: Hawk
Weapons: Katana + Kunai + Wires
Appearance: Spiky red hair + black eyes
Epithet: Konoha's Red Feather
Outfit: Sleeveless+shortpants etc.
Fighting Style: Close-Mid range fighter/sealer.
HOW WILL A TEAM BE UNIQUE?
-No character of the same clan can be in the same team.
-Teamplay is unique to each team (eg. Medic/Fighter/Sensor or Sensor/Fighter/Sealer or Trap/sensor/sealer etc.)
-Missions are changed regularly and mission assigned is random. No two teams will be doing identical series of missions.
-Player can choose single word names. (i dont know how we can prevent players from making Uchiha XxxAAxxX)
-Player chooses Clan.
-Player answers set of questions to determine element affinity(or should the player just choose?)
-Player can customise appearance but within the range of its clan's appearance. (eg. an uzumaki can choose a hair colour from different shades of red, but not blue/green/black hair.
-Player must tap keys to do hand seals. so each jutsu would have a unique set of seals.
-Player can dodge, jump and run in all direction.
-Player can punch, elbow, knee, kick to the front, sides, back and upwards.(eg. player1 runs forward, player 2 punches straight. player 1 ducks and press punch and upward keys at the same time to perform an uppercut.)
[possibly, the movements will have a 0.2-0.3 second lag to allow dodging and combos to be more feasible? like a punch would need a 0.2 s for the arm to draw back before the fist actually goes to the enemy.]
-It is not auto-aim, so skill is needed.
-Character will have three main attributes. Strength, Agility, Stamina. Strength will affect the damage dealt. Agility will affect character's moving speed and jump height. Stamina will be used for performing Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu.
-When performing Ninjutsu and genjutsu, character must first change stamina into chakra, then form handseals, then execute the jutsu. for example, player must hold key A to covert stamina into chakra. the longer the key is held, the more stamina is converted. If 10% stamina is converted but only 5% is needed to perform the jutsu, the remaining 5% will disappear. hence player will need skill to control chakra output so that less chakra is wasted.
-Player start off as academy student.
-Player learn basic controls and jutsus to upgrade to Genin.
-Genin must form teams of threes. If player cannot find real life friend to join, find an online friend.
-When a member wants to quit or when the team wants a member to quit, the rest of the team must approve. this can prevent inactiveness of a particular member.(kick the inactive person if all members of team approve)
-Jonin (Player or NPC) will take charge of team.
-Team can join team battles, missions, training. To encourage team play, the experience gained as a team will be more than as an individual.
-Teams can also join chunin exams to promote.
-A team will not disband until all members are jonin. Then the jonin that had taken charge of the team will upgrade to the status of Shishonin(Master Ninja) and will gain benefits + privileges.
-A jonin can choose to take charge of a genin team to become a shishonin. He can also choose to join other organisations like ANBU.
-Player can also learn advanced elemental jutsu from various NPCs after they become jonin level.
Dark hair, dark eyes (shade and hue varies)
Sharingan - when activated in battle, any projectiles, attacks, ninjutsus, hand seals in your immediate "surrounding sphere" would be in slightly slow motion, to allow the sharingan user to intercept/analyse attacks(sounds godly but i still feel it needs skill).
Mangekyo Sharingan - Able to activate amaterasu, tsukuyomi, susanoo.
Fire Affinity - can perform fire jutsus and also have greater skill (more damage/less handseals) than non-uchiha players with fire affinity.
Red hair, what colour eyes do they have?
Seals - Perform seals or attach seals to weapons(eg.the 4th's special kunai)
they should also have greater vitality than other clans.
Rasengan - Yes i feel that the clan should get Rasengan.
Dark Brown hair, pale lavender eyes.
Byakugan - i'm still thinking how the 359 degree vision would work out in game. Player can see chakra of targets invisible to naked eye. Player can also see weapons like exploding tags.
Gentle Fist - When activated in combat, keys will have to be tapped in order and timing to execute technique successfully. (eg. eight trigrams: 64 palms would need the player to tap left and right punch keys in a 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3-4, 1-2, 1-2-3-4 combo or something)
Dark hair tied in a stuckup ponytail.
small dark eyes.
Shadow techniques - from what i've realised, when shadow techniques are performed, the user must keep still. So when the hand seals for a shadow technique is finished, the player would stay on the spot while the direction keys would direct the shadow's movement.
Medicine - Nara clan is supposed to be knowledgeable in medicine, though its never elaborated in the manga... however in game, a Nara can make pills that can heal, buff etc.
Messy brown hair. small black eyes.
Change body size - i was thinking if i could be flexible about this, like press change body size key + arm key to change his arm size. however that could mean that i would have to assign keys to many body parts. the alternative is to perform seals or key combos to activate the jutsu(eg. meat tank, cho harite etc.)
Blond hair, blue eyes.
Mind-body switch - in battle, the user will switch views with the target when the jutsu is performed. the target's view would be the same, except it cannot control the body movements. However it would be difficult for the user to suicide when in the target's body. Maybe something like attach an exploding tag and switch out at the last second.
Sensor - although its not known if yamanaka members are natural sensors, but 2 known yamanaka are sensors in the story... and also the game must have sensors!
So, the Player would be able to see a coloured marking on his minimap and in the distance if an enemy approaches. Player would also be able to see if team/enemy is under genjutsu.
Appearance:shaggy brown hair, canine eyes, teeth, face tattoos.
Dog companion - able to perform combo jutsus (eg. Gatsuga). player can also control dog to do things like Dynamic marking. Dog can also go on autopilot, so that player can focus on his character control while dog auto attacks.
Smell - would be able to know direction to target. smell range increases as the player level increases.
Appearance:dark spiky hair, shades/eye covers.
Bug Control - Player can tap keys to command bugs to surround, attach targets. bugs will automatically leech chakra and health. Player can also use bugs to track target.
Black bowlcut hair.
Taijutsu: Player can learn to execute moves like Leaf Great whirlwind, Dynamic Entry and other cool taijutsu combos.
Eight gates: Player can open eight gates. (no. gates increase with skill level.) Each gate will increase speed and strength of user.(should the slow motion effect be used here?) but the opening of gates will eat up stamina. Also, the gate skills can be learned (eg. lotus, morning peacock, day time tiger)
medical skills - Heal, cure posion, buff.
Chakra enhanced strength - Heavy damaging punches, kicks that can literally make the ground crack.
Player start learning their elemental jutsus at Genin level. They would be able to master at least 16 different elemental jutsus by Jonin level. (2 elemental types X 8 different techniques) At jonin level, player would be able to learn ADVANCED jutsu.
Mostly offensive jutsus that are mid-range. Can also cause burn.
Advanced Jutsu to be learnt from Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Very flexible jutsus. Can be used to slow down, trap, defend, attack.
Advanced Jutsu learnt from Hoshikagi Kisame. This includes his special shark techniques and other Kirigakure-exclusive techniques.
Mainly for trapping and defensive. Some offensive.
Advanced Jutsu learnt from Kitsuchi. This includes techniques such as Rock clones, folding earth etc.
Offensive jutsus for close-mid range. Can cause paralysis.
Advanced Jutsu learnt from 4th Raikage, A. This includes LIGHTNING ARMOR, black lightning jutsus.
Offensive jutsus for various range.
Advanced Jutsu learnt from Shimura Danzo. This includes his various destructive vacuum techniques.
In the manga, there are close to none supportive lightning/fire/wind jutsus, so its likely that new supportive-type jutsus must be created to create a dynamic gameplay for every element. Any ideas of cool jutsus you have thought of?
There is not much information on summonings other than Toads and snakes. Hence there is need to create more content for each type of summoning.

-Goemon (combo technique with oil,fire and wind)

-Snake Authority spell (based on sasuke using on Juugo and suigetsu)
Sage Mode (its not going to be called sage mode but its a mode that boosts your attributes like the sage mode)

-Healing technique through mini katsuyas (Based on tsunade during pain arc)
-Pakkun and co.
-Tracking fang technique (based on kakashi during zabuza arc)
-Takamaru (sunagakure's fastest hawk)
-Sasuke's big grey hawk

-ENMA(based on 3rd hokage)
Please do not hesitate to criticise or add on ideas(fanmade or not). I really want this to be as complete as possible ^.^.
