Default Dubbing/delay time

I like watching my anime dubbed and on tv,but I just realized how far we are compared to the japaneese anime, were gonna I've to wait 2 or more yrs just to watch an episode that aired in japan last week....that's insane.

Yeah it's the nature of the beast. Some shows dubbed and aired here faster after they air in Japan. There's also a few anime that have been dubbed here the same time as they were produced in Japan, those being Kurokami and Gundam Unicorn.

Naruto was on Japanese television several years before it hit US television. Thankfully when Viz picked up Shippuden they started simulcasting the episodes as they aired in Japan. So while they're not dubbed you can enjoy the series as it airs in Japan and that's pretty great for Naruto fans.

Well you do have to understand it takes a while to get licenses, translate the episodes, and then start the dubbing of them. Sad, but true, especially when many of those voice actors are working on many other series, probably more than the Japanese do every week.

It did take VIZ Media a while to get Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD though even though the dub had already gotten a good start.

Well Viz didn't just go "Hey how about we start airing the show on DXD?"
They had to search for someone to accept the show first....and DXD was the only one who did..and it took like 1 year for it to happen

Well I figure it came down to money, and cartoonetwork was struggling I believe and at one point tried to get more live action shows....and I'm sure Disney offered up the most money.

The dubbing process takes a lot of time, too.
The task of matching the lip movements to an English sentence and make it sound natural, must be a pain in the arse.

It also depends on the network the dubbed anime is being aired on look at nicktoons with dbz kai they aired a new episode every monday through thursday but got to close to where japan was because there is no filler in kai disney xd doesn't have an execuse for them only airing one new episode a week because shippuden has filler
