A church bribing attendees with electronics

A church in Minnesota is giving out 3DS's, TVs, and other electronics to some of the people who will be attending their Easter services. They've done giveaways like this before and are doing it again.

So, they're basically bribing people to go to church.

What are your thoughts on this? In my opinion, bribing people or tempting them to go to church with the promise of a chance to win items and electronics and all that sounds disgusting. They shouldn't force people or try to get them to go. It's their own choice. A good religious follower would respect other peoples' views and wouldn't try to force them to take up theirs. Good followers also wouldn't put their religious views above plain intelligence or common sense.

And if they're advertising that they're going to give away items to those who come, and it gets a lot a people to come, OBVIOUSLY most people are going to come for the items, not for any religious stuff.

Sigh. What's the world coming to these days. So how do you feel about this? Some oppose it, some don't have a problem with it.

Firstly, Eric Dykstra (What an unfortunate name D: ) has a serious 3D fetish. Secondly, bribery of this sort is a counter-productive option. Thirdly, he has amassed from the coffers ~8 Grand to fund this project. I rebuke him with all my paltry worth--he could be using that money on people who need it!! DISGUSTING!

Lord rebuke, you, "Pastor" Eric Dykstra. May you come to some sense.

Actually, I don't even think this topic is debatable. I'm pretty sure everyone with a handful of working neurons would be in agreement with all the salient points.

Elk river! Damn... I'd have to drive almost an hour to get there!

No srsly though, this is kind of a weird church, i'm looking at their website and it's pretty interesting to say the least. I can't tell what kind of church they are though, it doesn't say at all, but I know it's not a catholic church I can tell you that much.

A lot of "liberal" views I consider corrupt. For example, a "liberal" will say that "oh, it's okay for men to be gay" without actually maybe thinking about it twice sometimes. It really reminds me a lot of Californian churches, modernized, embezzled, etc.

No, really you guys... I might actually go there, I mean... I'm reeeeeally curious. I mean I've seen some liberal Churches (and when i say liberal i mean they are a far cry from my catholic church.) with like tvs and alot of high tech stuff and even one with a rock concert during the service (it was christian rock though.) but this... This i think i have to see.

I just gotta find someone to road trip with me... and i think i know just the person.
