Nagato could do it. I mean he is recreated etc and has to listen to kabuto and has already used Gedo once

He needs someone similar to Nagato to control the Gedo statue since he doesn't want to do it, much less pay the penalties for using it. He'd rather have someone else pay the piper!

Yamato is being used to bolster up the Zetsu's..so he is otherwise being used by Madara for another purpose...

But Madara wouldn't have to STEAL Nagato or Yamato... It has to be someone else.

When you say he wants someone to control the Gedo statue, does he need someone doing it of their own free will?

Where is Kakashi at this moment agian? Can he do it with his Sharringan?

My guess is the person has to be living, otherwise why not use Nagato who has been revived? The liveforce may play a role...It most likely needs to be a living vessel though, whether that person be willing or an unwilling vessel. Maybe similar eventually to Orochimaru's technique or living on? However, applying it to the Gedo statue...it may be necessary for synchronicity purposes .

Madara seems to have control of the Gedo so far. he already plans to have Sasuke synch w/ it for his master plan. i think he went there to gather the nine tails chackra from the gold/ silver brothers, possibly as a power boost for the Gedo. i mean when it appears it crushes something, than there is a swirl of energy around it.

To be honest, you would have to take a look at nearly every character in Naruto.

And, do you have to have the Rinnegan to sync with Gedo Maza?
If you do, whoever he chooses, could be that, whoever.
He may just decide to just chuck a half dead Sakura in the Gedo Chair and have it spear her. We all (Most) want to see it ^_^

Not that she wont get a tad of a power up, just that she would be a bit more usefull.

I say a poor translation, and what he meant was he was going to attack with the Gedo statue that is the "substitute" is the Gedo Statue.

maybe he was just looking for another persons body to use for the summoning, if you recall by doing so you get stabbed 20 bars through your back that looks awfully painful/ugly/debilitating. Either he finds another body to use for the summoning or he uses nagatos body for it seeing as if nagato enters the war he must take down a whole sector down and obviously kishimoto doesn't want that so this might be her way of getting rid of nagato

Just a general question, as like Kalmeast, I have no idea what he meant and refuse to just spit out randomness. My question is on the statue. Is there any chance that the statue itself will become the tentails? Once it has all the tailed beast of course.

But he uses the work "STEAL", which is a big factor. He doesn't need to steal Gedo...it's his now... that's why i kinda agreed wit the first post..to steal nagato from Kabuto or something along that line...
