It was well done. Choji made a huge emotional change, and this battle could affect the rest of his life. This is the hardest thing Choji's ever done, so to see Choji overcome his fears and fight full force is truly amazing.

Choji has always been on an emotional rollercoaster if you ask me.
They say Ino is a dramaqueen, but Choji does it better.
And in the end, Choji always lears something from it!

I am excited to see Choji's Butterfly Mode again. Last time he used it was against Jirobo, which was a long time ago.

Now if I can only figure out how someone can induce such a large amount of chakra without any medicine or any unusual source like a Tailed Beast...

It took Choji some courage to face his late sensei Asuma when he was scared at first. He had Ino's Mind Transfer Jutsu to dodge becuase he's not fast and nimble. For a jolly and good-hearted person, Choji realized he had to face Asuma in a battlefield like the Great Ninja War. He had courage to do it.
