That's an interesting way of thinking. No one however can answer to the question "Who is to say, that the top 10 won't be made top 10 again"?

1 point, yes. But, 10 people/1 point = 10 points. While 1 person up reps you, you gain 1 point. At the same time, Wooster (for example) is up repped by 5 people = 5 points. Do you get the point?

I am only gonna say one more thing..because frankly I am seeing this heading no where and I love everyone...call me a care bear...*shrugs* Resetting is only going to bring ppl down. I hate to see people fight. I have always loved this forum, and its members. I have enjoyed the way it has grown. I am saddened to see something like this even be suggested. So you all have my opinion, no need to say it anymore. Just really think about what you are doing. If this is causing such a big problem, perhaps we should drop it like others have proposed.

If the idea of this is to make everyone happy, but people right now are arguing, that kills the point right there. If there's this much dispute, why would we risk losing members over something so stupid and just leave it there?

I just don't see the sense in getting rid of it if not everybody is all for it.

Well when you joined you didn't have to go up against people with 100 rep easily. When they get 30 rep the top ten has 200 rep. 60 rep 400 rep. etc. etc. It'd be pointless, when it first started people could get a spot easily since they weren't going up against that high of rep. People used to get a rep power cause they earned it, basically cause it'd take at least 10-20 people to rep you to get 1 power. Now it takes 1.

It'd be like this.

All-Time Posts: 1000
All-Time Rep Points: 1000

Posts in the last three months: 300
Points in the last three months: 300

Current Rep Power would be 3 by current standards.
So then, your rep power would be reflected by how you have done in the past three months.

Yes, if possible. But like I said, the rep power itself would be over what you've gained the past three months.

I'd like that, but isn't that the same thing we're trying to do? It'll be displayed either way, that just makes it more public. And will probably cost some to implement.
