With all this talk about Sasuke implanting Itachi's eys so that he can gain the EMS, it kinda got me thinking. What if back when Itachi was ordered to kill his clan, he failed to do so. Madara steped in and killed everyone except for Sasuke who was asved by Itachi. From there, Itachi vows to get revenge on Madara. Over the course of the next eight years, Itachi trains Sasuke to be a powerful ninja. When Itachi felt that he was ready, he forced Sasuke to kill his best friend. Someone who he had been close with for a number of years. After doing that, he gains his own MS. The crazy thing that I just thought of was what if now that they both have MS, if they trade eyes? Would that be possible for both of them to gain EMS? I don't know, but it was just a crazy thought and wanted to share it with all of you to get some feedback.

sure they would both have EMS. The basis is having a transplanted sharingan after awakening your own MS so I see no reason they wouldn't both get EMS in that scenario.

but if thats the case how come Madara didnt give his eyes to Izuna for both of them to have EMS?

well probably because he was selfish..but couldnt have Izuna known about the possibility?

I just think there's a mistake in kishi's theory , normally both of them should have EMS, perhaps it's just to make EMS extra rare.

nope..if you read the manga Madara said that Izuna, his brother readily gave his eyes to him..it was afterwards that he died..most probably as a result of the removal of the eye..

again Madara said that his brother's sacrifice was for nothing when the Uchiha had a truce with the Senju..

so it implies that he wasnt sick or anything..since it was a sacrifice..if he was on his deathbed then it would not have been termed as a sacrifice right? ^^

Madara's light had faded so much that his eyes completely lost their light (I think he said something like that). The last time we saw this happen was with madara's left eye (izanagi) and the sharingan disapeared. I bet that at some point, the sharingan will shut down after to much usage just like with izanagi. Sasuke could still see, not very well, but see none the less. So I think that as long as you're MS is functional then you may be able to both receive AND give EMS. However, in madara's case, I believe his eyes had completely lost their light and thus he could not give EMS but only receive it. Therefore, you're equation is right: two MS can create two EMS, HOWEVER, if you over use the MS to where it shuts down (like izanagi), then you can only create 1 EMS.

That would be stupid from madara. He knows about EMS, and still he doesn't change eyes with his brothers, just to be careful... Nah imo kishi kinda failed on that theory, but he's still a great man/writer

Izuna wouldn't have profited at all from Madara's eyes since they had completely lost their light.

but madara was the only one to go blind so both of em still could of had EMS

ur missing the point. You can lose most of you're eyesight and still be applicable to make 2 EMS. However, if you use it to the point that it completely loses light (like izanagi) then the sharingan becomes useless. However you can still receive another sharingan to receive EMS, you just can't give it to someone.

I was saying, why didn't madara change eyes before using the mangekyou. If he knew the risks for using it, and he knew there was something like an eternal mangekyou , why didn't he change eyes before problems occured?

The fact that he didn't is proof that he did not know about EMS until he actually received his brother's eyes. He never said he knew about it before receiving it and why would he? He was the first person to receive EMS. So the answer to you're question is because he DIDN'T know about EMS until AFTER he received it. The risks of MS became apparent while spamming it.
