i dont think Gaara's dad knew that Orochimaru would betray him,so he let his guard down and got killed. Besides Orochimaru is really strong so him losing to him does not mean he is weak

Orochimaru is/was stronger than every Hokage we've seen so far (alive).

He crushed Tsunade with no arms, he was shown to have beaten Jiraiya in the past with ease (not a Hokage, but still), and he killed the 3rd with only the loss of his arms (which he pretty easily got back).

He also could potentially have beaten Sasuke at full strength given what we've seen (Sasuke w/o MS, mind you). He was easily one of the strongest characters in the series.

With that said, I think it was stated Gaara's dad gave him some trouble, and that was when he had been outnumbered, caught be surprise, and unprepared for battle. This leads me to believe that he's a BAMF in every definition of the word.

Well, that and the fact he helped create Gaara.

yeah there you go lol Being beaten by Orochimaru does not make you weak,especially when you stand a chance against him.
