Well, before I make my conclusion, does the Sound Five shown any feats of countering Genjutsu of some sort?

Well, Tayuya. He is able to do Genjutsu, so I assume that he`d need to have at least basic knowledge of Genjutsu and dispelling Genjutsu if he wants to create one. But he has nothing that could dispell Itachi level Genjutsu!!!

Kimimaro managed to outmatch Lee in his base, drunk and then Gaara as well.
Jirobo was outclassed by Red Pill Choji.
Kidomaru could somewhat keep up with Neji.
Tayuya has no decent speed feats.
Sakon/Ukon can keep up with Kiba.

as long as they dont get caught in Itachi's genjutsu they should be fine, especially since there are so many of them

Itachi speedblitzes the Sound Five with ease.

Itachi then traps Orochimaru in the Tsukuyomi, and mindrapes him.

There is nothing that the sound 5 could do to him other than Genjutsu, which Itachi easily dispells.

Itachi can either Amaterasu the Sound 5, or fire off genjutsu one after the other. The Sound 5 are pretty much fodder.

Then Itachi vs. Oro is going down the same way it did last time: Totsuka Sword to the face.

Itachi rapes severe stomp thread. Itachi fires off a quick sucesssion of genjutsu. Then finishes with Susanno wielding sword of ToTsuka and yata mirror. Seals their souls fight over.

The best in the Sound Five is Kimimaro. His best was avoiding Gaara's sand, which was slower than weightless Lee, who was the same speed as Chunin Exam Sasuke, who's obviously slower than Hebi Sauce. Itachi kept up with him while sick and holding back.

Gives me enough reason to believe that Itachi can speed blitz most of them, and then use genjutsu to bring each of them down, with maybe some clones thrown in to even out the numbers.

Orochimaru already proved his blatant inferiority to Itachi, so he gets genjutsu'd too. Itachi can use Susanoo as a last resort if they prove too much trouble.

Kuro, I don't think Itachi would waste all of that chakra, just to end their lives. He simply speedblitzes them.

Also, Orochimaru can't counter Genjutsu, so he loses also.

He's a genjutsu type, s'why I added that in. Of course he doesn't need genjutsu to beat them.
