Hashirama would use wood spears on him, and minato would teleport,
I have written evidence
It says the third is more powerful than all his predeccesors,
so Minato is more powerful than him, and therefore powerful than all the hokages so far,

actually this is hard since the 4th knows the death jutsu thing but the 1st can use wood style but the 4th can teleport hence his nickname Yellow Flash but the 4th I think

I'd say Hashirama wins.

Minato can't just instantly teleport, he has to throw his kunai, and even then, he only has a certain range.

Hashirama was able to defeat Madara in his prime. And Minato himself says he can't beat Madara as he is, and Madara is definitely nowhere near as strong.

Last, wood can deflect kunais at really good range.

First Hokage.

The first Hokage beat Madara in his Prime state, Fourth Hokage said he couldn't beat Madara.

First Hokage could also make a forest around them both limiting the Fourth Hokages teleportation with his Kunai's. Thus making him use up all the Kunai and giving him an open shot with a Wood attack.

That's a good point that I didn't take into account in my argument. Not sure though if that changes my opinion.

I don't think it's that the Third thought Minato was stronger, it's just that he only had time to stop the one with Minato. Hashirama came out first, and Minato came out last.

even though MInato can teleport, it takes a lot out of him. Puse it uses a lot of chakera too, so he will be limeted to how many times he can teleport, and if he runs out of thoughs kuni he can't teleport any more. The farther the distaints of the teleport the more risk of death it is.
but then again, Minato did defeat then Nine Tail Fix just about all by him self.

Hashirama can defected Minato kuni's and make him teleport to the wrong place.There is all most no limits Hashirama can use his wood jutsu. he fought the uchiha's a lot, and he fought one on one with Madara every time there was a war or a country how hired the Uchiha's to fight on there side. Hashirama jutsu was said to be one of the strongest jutsu known to man.

so over all i say Hashirama wins.

Spoiler: The Third Hokage seemed to be most concerned about stopping Orochimaru from reanimating Minato's body to use in their battle. This leads me to believe that Minato was the Hokage that the Third was the most concerned about having to fight. To me, this suggests that the Third believed Minato to be the most powerful of the Hokage, since he was not as concerned about fighting the reanimated First and Second Hokage. So even though the question is whether Minato will beat the First Hokage, the above argument indicates that the Third Hokage at least believed that Minato was stronger than the First Hokage. Other than that I don't think I know enough about the First's capabilities to be to able decide.
