Chapter Fourteen - A New Destination

Kisekis' squad of rangers began closing in on Rasen and the others, Rasen could already feel the powers rising within him again, the red aura grew around him. Tempest saw this, knowing that it meant Rasen was reaching for the power again.

She turned to Bella, "We have to get to a safe distance."

"What? Why?" Bella was confused, not having seen Rasens' power before.

"It's about to get ugly and trust me, you don't want to be close when it happens." Tempest quickly explained, an apprehensive eye on Rasen the whole time.

Luckily, the closing rangers had noticed the aura growing around Rasen. Kiseki whispered to herself "The dragon's power...."

Tempest took the momentary distraction to grab Hikaris' wrist and she nodded to Bella, signalling her to follow her lead, she drew her gun and fired an energy shot at one of the circling rangers, the distracted man was taken by surprise and was blasted off his feet. Tempest, dragging Hikari with her and Bella rushed through the gap in the circle and behind some cover before anyone could stop them, another ranger tried to go after them, but returned his gaze to Rasen as there was a flash of red light and Rasen had taken his dragonoid form.

"What the heck is that?" One of the rangers exclaimed. As the dragonoid Rasen looked around himself slowly, calmly, as if a second consciousness had joined Rasens'.

"Freak!" Maikeru shouted at Rasen as a deep red light began forming around Rasen.

"Attack! Bring him down!" Kiseki ordered and the rangers rushed inwards. Rasen roared and released a pulse of red in every direction, the rangers were swept up and thrown all over the room, slamming against the walls and other objects.

Seeing the pulse coming, Maikeru and Kiseki quickly took cover behind a large, solid container and the pulse crashed into it, leaving severe burning on the other side.

The rangers were down, some stirring, covered in energy burns and other injuries from the attack, others were motionless on the ground.

"That power...it's too dangerous! It must be stopped!" Kiseki thought to herself, drawing her blade, she walked out from behind her cover and started walking towards Rasen, who was slowly returning to normal, blade in hand, his eyes were still red, a sign the power hadn't recieded completely.

Maikeru stayed behind cover, "This is insanity!" He looked around and quickly dashed out of the room, away from the danger. Leaving Kiseki to fend for herself.

Kiseki noted Maikeru had left, "So, he's fled, no matter, I don't need the spoilt son of a general to defeat the dragon."

Bella, Tempest and Hikari remained behind their cover, "What was that?" Bella asked Tempest, her eyes wide.

"I'm not sure, but that's why we needed to get away from him." She answered.

"I will stop you Rasen, you will not leave here." Kiseki informed him, lunging forward, her blade flashing, Rasen parried, his bladed arm shook as he deflected the blow.

"S-She's strong.." He thought as he blocked another blow, sending tremors through his arm. "I need to win quickly, I won't stand a chance if this lasts too long..."

Rasen continued to block and parry, keeping out of Kisekis' reach, waiting or an opening to attempt to finish her quickly. Kiseki remained calm, not letting herself become frustrated with Rasens' continued evasion.

"Should we help him?" Bella asked Tempest.

"Yes, we can't afford to waste time, and the immediate danger seems to have passed. You wait here with Hikari, I'll help Rasen." Tempest answered her. Bella nodded.

Just as Tempest came out of cover to help, Rasen had been thinking in overtime. "This isn't working, I'll have to use more of the power." Rasen thought, and the aura thickened.

Kiseki lunged at him, her blade humming through the air, Rasen tensed his legs and suddenly, he was gone, Kisekis' blade slashing through an empty space.

"W-what? Where did he go? He's so fast, the power...it's given him not only amazing power in that form, but this speed as well?"

Kiseki was searching rapidly for Rasen, she then felt a sharp pain in her lower back and a blade was forced through her and out her stomach, Rasen had dashed around her and stabbed her from behind!

"D-Damn it...I'm sorry...I failed." She thought as she fell forward, and was motionless on the ground. Rasen pulled his blade out, the aura vanished and his eyes returned to normal.

He then fell forwards onto his hands and knees, he could hear growling in his head. Tempest, Bella and Hikari rush over to him.

"Are you ok?" Bella asked him worried.

Rasen didn't hear her, all he could hear was the growling in his head.

"Who are you? What are you?" Rasen spoke out loud, trying to communicate with the consciousness in his head.

"I am Matsuro...I'm known as the destroyer of one thousand years." It spoke.

"Matsuro....what's going on?" Rasen asked more.

"You have been chosen."

"Chosen? Me? What do you want with me?"

There was silence, then "Go, go find your fate." then Rasen felt the consciousness disappear and he could hear Bellas' voice.

"Are you ok?" She looked freaked out.

"Something...a voice, in my head." Rasen remembered what Matsuro said.

"You have been chosen."

"No...I just want to help Hikari..." Rasen thought.

Tempest spoke, "Let's walk while we talk, one thing is for sure, it's time for Hizoku to take action."

"What...are we going to Hizoku? Bella and I are rangers! We can't go to rebel headquarters!"

"You got a better idea?" Tempest asked.

Rasen thought for a moment, but he could think of nothing, and he slowly shook his head. "No."

"Then let's get going."

Deep down into the Biokasei labs, in the kaijuu processor, Matsuro was thinking.

"He's doing well, but he must realize his fate, is connected, connected with the goal he so wants to achieve. But....he must not use my powers so freely...I can't limit my powers in my weakened state....if he over uses them too much....I will not be able to prevent them enveloping his consciousness and destroying his humanity, and eventually....killing him."

I got to page 406, and am now watching survivorman while drawing for a competition...FAIL xD

I laughed so freaking hard at mats entrance into the story....I choked on my spit...not kidding

I already added you, I actually had the characters for the story planned out before I started writing, and then people claimed which character they wanted named after tham, they didn't invent their own characters.
