he can be hypersonic, but the AOE of the explosoin would still catch him, if the kyubi shoots his menacing ball at the ground

I'm not talking about Thriller Bark first off. I was talking about the One Piece Movie: Strong World island. Secondly, Thriller Bark is a real island, try again. Prove to me that a regular sized mountain is larger than an island.

The Kyuubi needs to be close to Luffy if he wants Luffy to not escape the radius of the blast. Also, even though the radius is the size of a mountain, we have no proof that the Menacing Ball will reach Luffy in time before the Kyuubi fox gets turned into a giant meatball.

krakken got elephant gunned so does kyuubi. haki allows him to see menacing ball coming. or he intimidates it and makes it part of his crew as a pet
