Enabling Post Count in Debate Section

Why not completely remove post count then? While there is post count on these forums, why not give it to a section that has earned it?

Be my guest. Post counts, join dates, and rep all lead to an elitism attitude anyways. I wouldn't have a problem removing any of them.

I wouldn't either but having posts count in this area gives people more reason to post there. The post count does increase your rank and therefore increase your abilities in the WS which is solely an added benefit to having made quality posts in the debate section.

Such is the purpose of post counts period, traffic. I'm just saying that the people who would only bother posting in the area because they get a higher post count are more than likely not going to be people worth debating with. Since the ones that already do debate seriously are debating for the debate, not a meaningless number attached to their profile.

With the "reward" logic, all you are doing is the same as bribing them to increase traffic in an area, which leads to a high probability of low quality posts.

I don't know what's going on with the WS, but from what I understood the higher the rank the higher the abilities that you could do. I was just using the WS as another point to have posts count that one can benefit from. It's not my main point since some people such as myself are not interested in it. Even if it isn't Naruto related, why does "rate the character above you" threads get their posts counted while quality posts in the debate section aren't? This is why I think they should count everywhere. The only way post count played a role in the WS, was so people could become a Kage or Rogue.

Enabling posts count there increases traffic, incentive, and acts as a reward system.

I'm saying that people who post quality posts should be rewarded for it even if they are already doing it without being rewarded. Working as a volunteer, you would be fine if people didn't pay you for the work that you did, but if people did pay you it only gets better for you. Think of it as a want, not a need.

And was I simply saying the reward should be the discussion. That ensures the quality that has been maintained. I don't really care which way this goes, just giving commentary.

I personally don't care about post count, but I've never seen any reason to say, "Oh, you want it? Go post here instead". It just seems dumb to me, I think it should count everywhere or nowhere myself.

But what about the spam Maikeru?
Why do I care about someone else's number? If it truly is a problem, the annoyed people can downrep and/or report them. Though, something as simple as a little post, I don't see the reason to care about. I'd prefer to just say, "Post wherever you want. It will count anyways."

I'm all for it. I'd like the idea of any of my posts counting there. A majority of them are very long and thought out, and very reasonable. When I say this, I'm refering to a majority of all posts by all members in the Debate Section.
