What happens if an unstoppable object hits an unmovable object straight on?

This came up during physics for no reason and I thought it was clever so I should debate it with the clever people of the forum.

Discuss.

well my argument would be it never said the immovable object couldnt break so id think the unstoppable force would mow through the immovable object thus the object never actual moves from its starting position but has a new whole through

but truthfullly i dont think theres an answer lol

Lets call the "unstoppable object" a "ball", and the "unmovable" object a "wall."

Assuming that the wall is indestructable, we can conclude that the ball would bounce off of the wall.

If the wall is unmovable, then it has 0 energy. The ball has infinite energy since it is unstoppable.

Since the ball has infinite energy, it doesn't matter how much energy it loses. It will bounce off.

If the wall is NOT indestructible, and it does not occupy infinite space, then it is possible for the "ball" to break through the "wall." The "wall" in question cannot occupy infinite space, because the "ball" must also occupy space to exist.

However, I would question whether or not it is possible for an object to possess infinite energy.

Say the unmovable object is unbreakable and so is the unstoppable object. And if the unstoppable object hits the unmovable object straight on it won't deflect. And won't bounce off because it would have had to stop then reverse.

Now think about it.

I've gotta say, TDZ is right about heat. As long as there is energy, it will friction with the unmovable object to the point it all just melts or evaporated. If that's not possible, it just bounces in place forever

An unstoppable force implies infinite energy. An immovable object implies an infinite mass. Both of these require an infinite amount of energy, as infinite energy is unobtainable this situation can not arise.

If this situation were to happen, assuming natural laws being broken, here are a few theories:

The unstoppable force would merely pass through the unmovable object.
The unstoppable force would change direction upon collision with the unmovable object.
The most probable in this impossible situation, nothing happens. Energy would not be exchanged between the two to make something happen. Logically speaking, the two infinite forces would cancel each other out.

By logic/in theory and by the natural law of motion they should cancel each other right out. But for instant what are the 2 objects and what are they made out of?

Are they both a rubber ball? If so they instantly explode on impact.

But sense one is unmovable and one is unstoppable in theory they will continue movement and keep going until time it self is no longer around.

Though on impact it's only natural that the object will bounce back from the impact, so that means logically it would start going into the opposite direction, until it hits that object again. It will continues this cycle if there is no interference. It will only stop until both are warn down to the point there is nothing left.

But are these 2 object in a controlled environment? What is the mass of these 2 things? At what speed is the unstoppable object?
