If you actually WATCH the match that you so kindly linked and pay attention to what's going on, you'll see that the other guy is actually using these same tactics, he's just doing it better. JustOwnin does know what he's talking about, and he's analyzed the game very well, he just hasn't mastered actually putting these tactics to use and he needs to work on his basic gameplay. But what he's written in this thread is pretty accurate.

Please pipe down if you don't even know what you're talking about. Tell me how many times Y2K actually punched JustOwnin in that match. He didn't, he just outplayed him.

Apparently not, cause even I thought the same thing. I use a basic strategy and most don't see through it even after i pull it off once.

For those who DO notice, I change it up according to their strengths and weaknesses. This is where the skill comes in, coming up with a new tactic in the heat of battle.

Most don't have skill, I'll admit that. But there is a good amount of skill involved for those who use what is "not so common sense."

Not in THIS fighting game, you shouldn't. Why? Because there are superior strategies. What is your online win/loss ratio? You apparently don't have the ability to see beyond the genre and into the game mechanics.

And yes, using your jutsu over and over again IS a strategy. It may not be a good one, but it is a strategy. Now try to get this - if someone is using such a terrible strategy, and you continuously prove susceptible, that speaks worse of you than it does them.

Truth. Also, predicting and making good use of timing is a lot more skillful than pressing "o o o o o o". If you do that, you will lose. Why? I will sub and ninjutsu you. THAT is why JustOwnin says that punching (aka melee combos) is pointless. Against good players, it will just get you pwned.

I'm also suggesting that if you're so terrible that you have to tell everyone else that they have no skill (because that's essentially what you're doing - trying to downplay the game so that you won't look so bad) that you might just want to stop playing. I mean, for such a terrible game you sure seem awfully invested in it.

WHAT....? That made no sense. Why would someone even do that. And how could you say I suck just because i think the game sucks. But, there ou go again acting like what I'm saying is gonna ruin the game for you or something. Its an opipion. And its a majority opipion that harcore fighting game players agree with a most review sites as well. As much as I hate how gamepot is basis toward anime sometimes I agree witht he gamespot review for this game. Shallow combat. This game takes no skill at all to master. If I can take a hobo off the street and he can just spam one button the whole match with deidera our just keep using ninjutsu a whole match and he beats you then that proves he has no skill. I don't calim to be great at the game but I also know I don't suck. Whenever I try to have a serious match with someone alls they want to do is play like a n00b and spam, use support and JUSTU JUSTU JUTSU ALL MATCH!

and I'm invested in trying to prove my point. I wasted 60 bucks on this!!! I've waited all these months and heres what I get!

Lol All I read was " Dont punch " which probably means your one of those guys who sits at a range, summoning support constantly while you charg chakra. Then spam jutsu. Usually using characters like Sage/Hokage Naruto, Minato, Shino, Itachi and Deidara.

I think you two are misunderstanding each other. JustOwnin WAS INDEED saying that smashing the "o" button as fast as you can in a terrible thing to do, but he isn't saying to only use jutsu and such. He's saying "measure the risks, if you're going to smash the o button, do it when they have no chakra left to sub. Otherwise bait them into making a mistake." Now I personally am not one to stand there waiting, I'm a bit more agressive than that (Unless I'm playing as Shika) I used to smash the o button, but now I'm working on changing the timing of my presses on the button, so they can't sub it.

And aside from that, all of his other advice was pretty much spot on... UJ when they dash, use team jutsu if you can, etc.

And while its true that spammers get away with spamming alot, when you throw 2 people who don't spam in a match, you'll see that the better person, or the person with the better strategy wins. Therefore the game does indeed take skill.

Then stop playing? Because your point remains invalid. Saying that timing and prediction aren't components of skill just makes you look like an idiot. I'm sorry, but it does. Every fighting game doesn't have to play the same way. UNS2 has its own quirks and intricacies. Just because they don't mesh with your playing style doesn't mean it doesn't require skill or that it isn't a good game. You're trying to compensate for your own lack of ability, or perhaps just your own disinterest in the metagame. However, doing so by making a derogatory point about all of the players of the game is not making you any better or making the game more to your liking. Your point only takes your own self-interest into account.

And sure, maybe that hobo could be some people, maybe, but he sure as hell couldn't beat me.

Yeah but my general point is that there is skill in the game. It doesn't matter if it's between two "spammers" or two non-spammers. If two spammers come together, the one with more skill is going to win. If you're skilled enough, you will not continuously get hit with the same attack. Sure, spamming can cause a person who may technically have more skill to lose, but in those instances you just have to learn and take that into account the next time you play. If you can't do that, then unfortunately you may have reached your maximum skill capacity. If that happens, it doesn't mean that the game is suddenly garbage and everyone has no skill. It just means that you're somewhat deficient.
