Default Tips for Beating Awakenings?

I am super confused on what to do against some of the "Monster" awakenings such as: Sasunoo, Deidara's Dragon, 8-Tails, 9-Tails etc. I am sure there are others I can't remember. They can usually just spam 1 move and there is nothing I can do (at least that us how I feel.)

Sasanoo can just spam B and you can't block the attacks. Naruto's fox can spam fireballs and you can't block them, MAYBE you can dodge them but they come out so fast.

I really feel like I am a missing something here. Can I have some tips on what to do to just live through a super awakening?

Yes, i have dealt with many of those awakenings all you need to do is run like hell lol. Just jump dodge side ways to avoid spam beams and for diedara what works for me is rushing the dragon and attacking it. if you get caught up in susunoo just chakra dash backward and ofcourse you may get hit a few times (just substitute and use partners) and pretty much wait for the awakenings to expire. Good Luck!

You cannon block Sasanoo attacks. Or in my experience, you can't block fox-blasts either. Yeah I mean I have been managing. It's not like i AUTO lose or anything. But if it's a close battle and they awaken... It's GG.

For kyuubi and deidara's dragon, the x button (or whatever jump is if you're on xbox) is your best friend. I double jump and hold x to keep a continuous jump. It's actually best to hold the jump and press the projectile throw button while jumping so that you not only dodge but you can interrupt their actions as well. This works wonders against the clay dragon and it's incredibly easy to stay out of its reach while interrupting. Kyuubi is still a threat up close, but again, dodge like crazy. This tactic will definitely keep its chakra gun off of you once you've got the hang of it. Well, mostly.. against really good narutos it's enough to let me survive through it which is usually all I need.

I don't suggest blocking against any awakening. Your guard will be broken after a couple of hits.

I'm still trying to figure out how best to manage susanoo. If I get backed into a corner I can never get away before they start striking again, and you can't block but it's possible to substitute, it's just REALLY hard to do. One thing I do is when I'm fighting itachi I make sure to keep my chakra guage as high as possible at all times. I also keep a distance once he's low on health so I won't get ganked by his megasword. Then if he awakens I start firing off my ninjutsu because in my experience no susanoo ever blocks (I don't even know if they can, and if they can they're probably not because they're trying to close in on you). I play ino so her ninjutsu covers the distance easily. If your character doesn't have a long-ranged ninjutsu I'd suggest just run-jumping like hell to keep out of corners and backdash like crazy.

If backed to the wall its insanely hard to get out of. From what I've seen so far is that every Itachi user will panic when they see that they are about to lose, and starts spamming. Run a guard support and save the drive for when they are being garbage.

What happens is when you are easily moving around their long range attacks, they will get angry and actually dash in. I'm trying to make an itachi hit the guard support, from there you move around the position, practice spacing and let the 15 seconds run out.

**edit** Also, I have been experimenting what it would be like to let them have just enough hp before their awakenings.

Diedara's is by far, the worst in order to unlock, next to itachis, from just online battles. I haven't actually done any compare and contrast garbage yet.

But seriously guys susunoo is not that bad, all you need to do is dodge and if you have long range jutsu use it and wait for it to expire.

Ninja dashes and weapons, along with chakra load and weapons, with Deidara though, get under his dragon and spam combos in the air.

Yeah I have gotten much better lately. You running around and shooting shirukens is the best solution i found. Although I almost always get hit 2-4 times, which is often enough to get you killed.

Spamming supports helps do damage, but it doesn't do anything to help you.

Get your opponent low enough to be beaten with a team ougi but high enough not to awaken. Have at least one support be a defensive type, so when the gage is at 1 all you have to do is load chakra for a second while the support comes to guard you, stop, then load again. Your gage will be 2 in no time.

In the case that you are unable to hit them with the team ougi, become HIGHLY aggressive when they're health is low. Use projectiles to keep them from loading chakra. This often frustrates the opponent into briefly abandoning the transformation, and this is your opportunity to strike. Look out for supports as these are your worst enemies when trying this strategy

When I first started using this tactic I would still get hit every now and then. But with practice you'll start frustrating your opponent much more during their awakening than they will to you.

To practice I went to free battle, put the settings on super hard, set the time to infinity and put a +2 or 3 handicap against myself. Then choose either deidara or temari (I personally start with temari then switch to deidara after a few battles) and use the jump-n-shoot tactic during the entire battle. Sometimes I just jump around and practice dodging temari's wind throws. After a while you get really good at it and dodging stuff just becomes natural.

Now it might depend on which character you use. Ino twirls and stays in the air for a long period of time while still moving, which allows me to twirl behind the opponent instantly if they rush me and miss, while still shooting projectiles at them. This disorients almost every person I've ever fought and gives me time to back away quickly. I know not all charcters jump the same, but it should be enough to help you live through these awakenings.

And supports are immensely useful against clay dragon and susanoo. I find that hinata is really great, and neji probably is too. Why? If you drop them they will hit the opponent, but as you know neji and hinata's support attacks stun the opponent for a short amount of time before knocking them back. So not only have you pushed them back, but you gained a few seconds while the opponent is stunned by the trigram spin/block. I know other supports also stun (temari, sakura, konan) but I'm not sure that they also stun the gigantic awakenings. The hyuugas do for sure, while also knocking back - yes, hinata can actually knock back the clay dragon, so neji probably can too. They are effectively the best get-off-me supports in the game.

Also, when using supports against itachi especially I try to stagger them. I do not use them both at the same time. I use one, and then when that one is about half-filled again, I use the other. This way I can use them at regular intervals, buying me more time. Of course this is only necessary if you actually need time and not just damage. But I still find that staggering your supports works better to keep them off you.

Sorry for the long posts, good luck.

P.S. pathbeyondthedark's suggestion works very well too and should probably be your primary effort when fighting itachi, naruto, and deidara (maybe tobi and guy too who have the most bestial "normal" awakenings). Obviously good opponents will be difficult to hit with team ougi and will wait for your team guage to run out while you refrain from doing more damage, but it's worth an effort.

I was surprised when I fought Sasori, his awakening to me is the hardest to fight.
The only way I can beat him is to keep hitting him. He can hit you from anywhere on the field.

Sasori's awakening is a sad, sad joke. You know that jumping shuriken tactic? It stops him from using those hundred puppets... completely. The projectiles track and hit him before he has a chance to start his puppet chain. Every single time. I almost feel bad when I do it because the opponent cannot do much. =[ They'll have to rush you or try shooting fireballs, and if you're dodging correctly.. neither should hit you.

Reyno let me warn you on a tactic I use when I awaken
sasori's awakening: His 100 puppets attack is SLOW, but if used in mid air the puppets come out MUCH faster.

you also wanna be careful when they use there tilt analog attack its annoying as hell when they come out of nowhere flying at you lol.
