i only read the op, but from that i could see two things happening:
1. this works out really well and new people that arent normally in the bg a lot get interested because it is well organized and fairly run by the council or

2. activity in the bg could plummet. lets face it. the bg is a pretty exclusive section with a set number of regular contributors. the greatest activity spikes are when someone goes on a trolling spree, and this new setup seems designed to lock out trolls... good and bad in my opinion.

i can't really suggest much else, just my two cents.

i can't really suggest much else, just my two cents.

BG is the 6th largest forum in terms of post count. Regardless of how active it may be at any given time, it will always be one of the overall most active forums. This new system can only add to it since it gives people something to work towards while contributing to the system and offers better organization. I don't see activity plummeting.

I know several people (including myself) have been waiting for this for quite some time now.

Thou, not entirely what some of us expected, it still seems very well organized and fair.

I was a little iffy at first on the tier thing, but now that I look back at it, it is probably a good idea. It'll (at least for the most part) keep many of use from being frustrated by new members who's debating skills are still in their early stages, and vice versa.

I would love to try to apply for one of the council positions, but I understand if there is limited space.

this idea has potential, will also make this BG pretty complex, but if thought out easily accesable. this place is evolving

How many threads are made for it relative to the size of the Metadome

As in - Battles with custom rules, Batman vs The Pope (as in Benedict XVI), Obama vs Diet Coke, the grand ETC

Someone please explain this to me if possible...

Tiers

Each section, except for possibly the Metadome, will be tiered accordingly-

Top Tier
Middle Tier
Bottom Tier
Free Battle

So, in short most low tiers will have normal battles whereas the upper tiers will be mostly about agreeing upon feats or outcomes of battles that might lead to spamming/trolling/flaming if made in lower tiers...

• -Who will be in the BG Council?

I've got a pretty good idea of the candidates that'll come up, but feel free to discuss. I'm shooting for 5ish to start.

So here is my list..

So here is my list..

All of the battles will be wiped clean and put into a sort of archive thread, so there will be plenty of battles to do for narutoverse. Kinda like giving the BG's and new start.

Joke section would go into the metadome.

Metadome is where all the battles that need there own section such as, Spite threads Joke threads "Who's faster" "Who's Stronger" etc.

Nononononono. The lower tiers are for new debaters who don't have as much skill as the higher tiers. They're basically the same but in the higher tiers posts will count and in the lower tiers they won't. So the higher tiers won't always get frustrated when someone says "Sasuke weens cuz he's teh kewlz0rz" and can debate somewhere else. It will probably lessen the aggravation.

OK. I had no idea about the "post wont count" thing for lower tiers....Is that only for lowest tier or for every tier other than the top most?

But think about it...If all the top tiers are known good debaters then they will only make the battles that are NOT utter stomps and those battles/results can be/will be used as references in lower tiers...This is exactly the thing that will happen with tiers based access control model...If two or more of the upper tier members disagree over something then they will definitely make same thread in upper tiers and have it debated there....Which will result in general agreement over feats/outcomes in top tiers and the conclusions will be, without doubt, used by people in lower tiers...

Not that I am against it but, if this happens, it will kill the fun of debating ...Because, as we all know, there are many here who like to "draw inspiration" from upper tier members...

Keep this in mind Ladies and Gentlemen. VIZ isn't a large Battle forum. Larger than other Naruto Battle Sections and forum though and rivaling NBD in size, perhaps bigger too.

Well it's not like all of them are just going to stick to one section, if you get to be in high tier you have acess to ALL of the tiers and can debate in each one. It's true some of them might just stuff themselves up in Top tier but the mods/FAIL who debate in the BG's will be in every section most likely, so it's not like there won't be any good debaters in low tiers, just less =].

This is probably a dumb question,but will this mean that only the moderators of the Bg are allowed to make threads? I can't imagine there only 15 active threads a day unless something like the HST's rule about threads being implemented here.

Nonoonononon yer interpreting it wrong, it's talking about a new section being made it's not a limit it's so if like say for instance you wanted a Bleach section for Singleverse, you'd have to have 15 active topics in three days for Rice to make it.
