Rock Lee finally reaches a new level.

The only question about Might guy's future involves the location of his student.

Something's going to happen to Guy, we all know it. Some think he'll die, some think he'll live.

Well, Naruto has taught me one thing. The Student/Sensei relationship is sacred. During every death in Naruto, the Sensei(Asuma, Jiraiya, Sarutobi) have either died by the hands of their former student, or had their student present during their death.

Rock Lee isn't around. And the Sensei/Student relationship has never been on the level that we've seen between Rock Lee and Might Guy. Some say creepy, I say genius.

Guy can't beat Kisame, most of us know this. Even if Guy opens the 8th Gate, there's a chance it may not even kill Kisame. Gate of Death, right? Dead Guy? =(

I can't help but feel like a worse fate is in store for him. I think it'll be just like what happened to Lee. He'll be hospitalized, and told that his ninja career is completely over.

But unlike Lee, there will be no hope for Guy to be healed. This would finally cause Lee to step up his training to a level unlike anything before, and avenge his Sensei's death.

From the start, Lee has been a major character of Naruto. But after Shippuden started, he started falling further and further behind.

The Sensei Death/Avengement is too typical. Lee will want vengeance, but in a way that hasn't been done. Other than the Kushina flashback, the manga has been lacking emotion sinceHinata's apparent death. This would be a perfect trigger to bring back Lee.

I think if he dies, team Neji will return. Neji and Lee would go on a massive training session while tenten stays home. Neji and Lee would go and fight Kisame.

Yep that is the most likely outcome Gai dies and then team Gai trains so they can beat Kisame.

ok gai gets seriously injured and can't fight OR he dies (hopes for first) and Team Gai tries to avenge him, and Tenten dies. Neji and Lee then do some fobidden jutsu/ combo. Also you did say gai dies

Kisame will either die/have the shark with scroll escape.

or live and kill guy and have all that you just said come to life.

if gai does go to 8th gate his move would be night dragon, due to his flames getting hotter with each gate his aura would be white. The white flames could also symbolize the moon right now it looks like they are even, but idk for sure until next week! I wonder what moves lee would do if Gai died. I hope it won't be the same moves. looks like Naruto and Yamato are on the move. I think guy won't instantly die. He will be saved by Naruto but it does look like Gai and kisame are going to have a classic 1 on 1 fight that I love to see.

Honestly I think a seventh or eighth gate gai could kill Kisame. Also, lee had a fairly big role in part 1. I think it's just time it other characters get more screen time. People like Sakura and Kakashi in particular.

I agree that something is definately going to happen to Guy next chapter. I think death, because i've always thought someone would open the 8th gate, and this seems like a fight where Guy might have no other choice but to do so.

Some of you guys sure have a bad logic. It's written everywhere that ones anyone who opens 8th gates will indeed obtain great powers surpassing the kage level in a limit of time duration. Anyone who opens it dies.

The state of having all Eight Gates open is known as Eight Gates Released Formation (八門遁甲の陣, Hachimon Tonkō no Jin; English TV "Eight Inner Gates Formation"). Any shinobi who activates this state will temporarily gain powers greater than a kage, but they will die because of the damage done to their body.

But hey what am I to say, we'll find out next week.
