Severus Snape VS Voldemort

(To my knowledge this is the first thread to have one HP character fight another, and hopefully it won't be the last.)

Standard BG defaults, who would win? I don't think Snape would have as difficult a time as I think most people would expect him to. He's shown excellent mental resistance, the ability to use the killing curse just like Voldemort, Sectumsempra and flight unaided by a broom, and he just happens to have shown a few feats similar to Voldemort's. And since both characters are supposed to be at their most recent abilities, Voldemort doesn't get his Horcruxes since Harry destroyed them all.

Edit: I say Voldemort wins. Despite all that Snape has going for him, Voldemort's displayed more power as a wizard overall in his various clashes with Harry, the traps he laid with his Horcruxes, and his large variety of Dark Arts spells.

I would say Snape only because Voldemort's life and power has been lowerd by HP destroying the horcruxes (funny name).

His power was intact with his Horcruxes drestroyed, so that alone wouldn't give Snape an advantage.

The only person who ever stood any real chance against Voldy without the aid of Plot no Jutsu was Dumbledore, and even he wouldn't fight Voldemort unless he absolutely had to.

Correct. Snape was tough, but was overwhelmed by the combined spellcasting of Flitwick and Mcgonagall during the Hogwarts attack at the end of Book 7, and had to flee. Voldemort, without any Horcruxes, was able to trio Kingsley, Mcgonagall, and another professor with relative ease.

Voldy takes this purely with his superior spell knowledge, and speed feats.

I think Snape would win, he is probably one of the most powerful wizards in the HP universe. The only reason he died in the story is because he was caught off guard.

In a straight up duel I believe Snape would definitely beat Voldemort.

Book seven. He was soloing McGonagall, Kingsley, and that one proffessor who's name escapes me like TBC said, and Vold's spell knowledge and ability to contro lthe spells he uses is greater than that of Snapes.

Despite what Snape was capable of, I still think Voldemort would win. He was one of the strongest wizards ever and not even Dumbledore could have beat him.

But going by most recent feats Voldy is also dead. I dont think this can be used as a recent feat. I think this should be considered as a limitation in the OP. But, not sure.

Voldy wins. Even though Snape has shown good powers, Voldy can posses his victims and that should do.

How in the name of merlin's pants did you two figured that out??! As far as I know other horcruxes don't make any deference at all to the living person's fighting ability. And I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Crabbe used Fiendfyre, I'm sure Snape can use it too.

You can't just assume he know's it, thats hype.
Mental spell casting is being able to cast spell's without a wand, something Voldemort can do, and Snape cannot.

When Voldemort fought Dumby, he used Fiendfyre.

Where has it shown Voldermote (or anyone) can battle without wands? /or even to cast a moderate spell.
He didn't. It was only in the movie. (We don't have proof to call it fiendfyre anyway)

Dumbledore Vs. Voldemort. Dumbledore threw his strongest spells at Voldemort, who was able to counter them easily. Dumbledore would have even been killed by Voldy if it weren't for Fawkes absorbing one of the Killing Curses about to hit Dumbledore. Voldemort had the battle won, luckily all the Aurors came to the Ministry just in time.

Snape was never off guard around Voldemort, ever. He was a spy for Dumbledore after all, and knew how cold-blooded and powerful Voldemort was.

He just knew he didn't stand a chance in a fight against him. Voldemort even gave him warning... "I'm going to kill you Severus, and take the Elder Wand from you."

There wasn't a wizard who existed that could have taken Voldemort. Harry only won because of Ploticus Holicus and for obtaining all 3 Hallows.
