Asuma or Shikaku
Who do u think shikamaru was closer to his father Shikaku or his master Asuma and y u think that.

I believe he was closer to Shikaku, because he was the one who got him into shogi and what not. That made a close bond between them and they always play. I'm too tired right now to think, so if this sounds retarded, I'm sorry. lol

I think he cares for them both equally.
He could spend alot of his time with Asuma. Talking about everything. Though he didn't always understood his father... The guy actually could make him let out all emotions in a few seconds. After Asuma died, he played shogi with his dad. Important father-son moment.

Asuma was the one who taught him how to play shougi. Shikamaru was more close to asuma when the later was alive. After Asuma's death shikaku taught him a few things about being a man and other stuff as well. So I guess Shikamaru now shares the same bond with both of them.
