Good person, not bad decision.

LOl, why the heck is your mom a prison nurse..she can get a prefectly good job at a hosptial...no offense, sorry, im just wondering.

She made a bad decision herself lol. Sorry again.

But to stay on topic, she is correct, it's not really a debate, its an actual fact. for example, someone that robs a bank to pay for his son surgery...lol just bad decision. which reinforces your mom's comment that not all people in prison are bad.

obivously other example show that they are..so it goes both ways. but your mom's comment specifically is correct. there's not much to debate about.

I don't think there are bad people at all, and if there are, there are very few. Even someone who constantly makes bad decisions and does stuff just to hurt people, it's probably because they weren't raised well, right? And so, it's not really their fault?

I don't know. It depends on what you mean by "bad people."

Sure.

I think human nature is wrong though. We are prone to be selfish, hateful, and self preserving.

Prisons are run by the state. That means job security. Also means better pay and benefits like insurance.

But someone who robs somebody, or takes money from someone to pay for someone close to them's surgery in a life and death situation in no way makes them a bad person, just makes them a desperate person in a lose/lose situation.

Part true, part wrong in my opinion.
Half of the prisoners can't really help it, they're being born in the wrong place.
And the other half is just a real nut and never intended to be 'good'.

1. Well, the way things are, SOMEBODY had to do the job. Frankly, I'm grateful that his mother took on that job. It means I don't have to do it.

2. It's not a fact. Terms such as "good' and "bad' are opinions. As such, they are specific to each person.
