Why did it take Naruto...

Why did it take Naruto so long to go nine-tailed form during the pain fight. So Hinata dying sets him off but when his entire village gets destroyed and Kakashi gets killed, that didnt set him off?

Do you know how boring that would be, if naruto just up and beat him and there was no drama. Do you know how boring everything fictional would be if the most logical things were to happen? Just like when something happens in a movie and people ask, "Why'd that happen?", my response is the same for this; "It was in the script"

EDIT: Although I entirely agree but that is what made it so melodramatic =D

EDIT 2: Also wasn't it pretty awesome seeing Hinata all like, SWOOSH through the air and then all like, KABLAM into the ground. Then Pain was like, B!t$h what! And Shanked her, I thought that was oddly comical(probably only through my perception of it though).

Because Hinata fell specifically trying to protect him. It's because of his "weakness" that she lost.

I never realized that. He never wanted to go nine-tailed form, that's why he learned sage mode. Besides, he knows that if he goes in that state again, he could hurt somebody innocent just like what happened to Sakura before. I guess seeing Hinata die in front of him made him go berserk.

Agreed. If logic was applied...well there wouldn't be Naruto.

The Hinata part was like watching watching a parked car on train tracks.
You could see what was going to happen a mile away. It would have
had a lot more emotion to it...had Hinata stayed dead. But nope.
Now it's more like she was just being a nuisance.

Not the same. He wasn't there or aware it was happening until it was too late.

Hinata died infront of him, trying to protect him, because he was too weak. Hinata was a friend, or close enough anyways and she fell in battle in a very personal way toward Naruto.

I'm just saying it as his character sees it. Logically....eck, logic and manga do not go together.

Remember, never drive over train tracks unless you can make to the other side.

Also, never use a character for an emotional death if they ain't going to die...ever.

This discussion has already been had, and the same conclusion is made every time. Hinata being "killed" was simply the straw that broke the camels back. When he arrived and saw Konoha destroyed, he was angry, when he knew Kakashi was dead, he was angry. However, due to him wanting peace more than his own revenge (even for Jiraiya's death) he decided to simply disregard his anger and fight only to protect the remaining villagers.

When Pain took advantage of Naruto's weakness, Hinata was killed because of him being too weak to do anything about it. Thus the anger from everything that had happened recently exploded all at once, which is why he jumped straight to six (if I remember correctly) tails. If it was just the death of a friend then he would not have gone 6 tails because he has already suffered the loss of the person closest to him twice, once when Sasuke left and the other when Jiraiya died. Granted, Sasuke didn't love Naruto (hopefully) so it wasn't anywhere near as dramatic, but Jiraiya's was since they were like father and son.

It's because he was able to control the Kyuubi, but when he saw one of his close comrades die right in front of his eyes, it triggered it because Pain showed no sympathy. It was just too much for Naruto to handle.

That is dependent on the friend though.

Imagine what he'd of done if it was Sakura who died in Hinatas place?

nope i thought it was pretty funny...the most funny was when she was about to pull that stick from narutos hand..THEN OUT OF NOWHERE shes in the air...pure epic xD
