why doesn't Naruto really 'talk' to the nine tails?

I found it strange to see that the Eight-Tails is almost benevolent.

Naruto doesn't 'talk' to the nine tails because Kishimoto forgot about it until he decided to talk about the nine tails' history.

To be honest though I think this is just one of those thing Kishi overlooked and never thought about. And by the time he turned Naruto into this life changing bad-into-good force it was sort of too late.

I don't think so...it's possible that he purposely did it because he wanted the grown up Naruto to handle that issue....or he didn't want Naruto to have it easy from the start (since the good guys always have to suffer) should he have come to some terms with the fox earlier...

Another thing I do wonder about is that the killerbee wasn't the original host of the 8-tailed...unlike Naruto..who has been the only host for the fox...and killerbee didn't take very long to tame the beast...whereas Naruto had all the time in the world!! And isn't it odd that the third hokage (or even the fifth ) or the jounins for that matter didn't train Naruto how to suppress it/control it/use it?considering he could have been Konoha's biggest defense!! Instead they were also worrying about what would happen if the seal would break!! I think Jiraiya was the only one who sorted out the seal once ...n then trained Naruto how to use the fox's chakra n etc..
