They can manipulate chakra to the greatest degree in the entire series. Because of this,
-They can utilize every chakra point in their body. (Manga chapter with Neji and Kidomaru)
-They can asses almost every situation and manipulate their chakra to their advantage(Hinata protected herself from Guren's crystal jutsu by separating herself with a chakra film over her entire body from the initial crystal formation). If many claim that's not canon, then there's her 64 Palm Guard Jutsu that can ward off a huge array of attacks depending upon how it's manipulated, similar to Neji's Rotation).
-They are ridiculously fast upon focus on their Eight Trigrams, which are theoretical ranges in which their reaction speed and focus abilities are greatest. (There's no touching a Hyuga Member inside the Trigrams who activates some sort of Gentle Fist technique. It's made obvious by how their movements appear to fade, or, in the manga, how it's seen that(specifically) Neji's strikes are so quick they appear simultaneous.)
-They can disable/cancel out chakra of chakra based substances, energies, and organisms, and therefore can dispel certain small-scale elemental jutsu as well.(Manga proof? Neji dispelled Kisame's elemental jutsu, Water Prison.) Also, it has been made evident in the manga that Hyuga members can adjust to their situations by simply forming their chakra in whichever way they desire, literally. Specific occasions are used).

They have the Byakugan, and therefore have nearly 360 vision, telescopic vision, long-range vision, chakra sensory capabilities, and vast focus abilities(being the only ones in the entire series who are able to see or even look into chakra points.)

A bonus fact: They can easily kill their enemies with one strike.

Neji Hyuga:

He's the strongest of the Hyuga Clan members, directly acknowledged by Hizashi Hyuga,the Third Hokage, Kakashi Hatake, and last but not least- the leader of the Hyuga Clan himself, Hiashi Hyuga.

(Just to make this clear) He's the strongest member of one of the strongest clans of the strongest village in the entire Naruto series.

He overcame his weakness, which was that his attacks were limited to a very short range(Hand-to-hand combat). His Air Palm solves that puzzle.

He is underestimated by a vast number of Naruto fans.

Actually, my argument is that chakra is the basis of everything, and therefore the Hyugas(with their superior chakra control) can defend against or dispel almost anything.

They would not be able to avoid "all attacks," because different attacks have different ranges, speeds, etc.. Neji would be way too fast for them.

Hyuga have been proven to have the greatest chakra control. Proof? The Medical Ninja's healing techniques are from manipulation of chakra only in the hands. Hyuga members have complete control over every single chakra point in their bodies. Claiming anyone in the Naruto series has greater chakra control than them is just biased.

(Except for Tsunade, as she has her slug summoning. Obviously she uses other...'appendages.')

Neji was put into the water prison almost at the start of the battle, and only escaped right at the end. He took ages to find the weak spot of the the prison. Almost every jutsu besides water prison lasts for almost no time. He wouldn't be able to analyze it in time to cancel it, he would be hit.

It's chapter 257-258 if you want to check for yourself.

2)He didn't need to. He simply waited for a distraction, and broke through the prison that was stronger than steal by disrupting its chakra, then easily killed both clones at once.

1. Wrong. A chakra point is about the size of an eye (see every time he looks at a person). You have no idea how big the weak spot is compared to that, it might be even smaller.

1)Hyuga members have greatest control control, as they utilize every chakra point, while no one else can.
2)Chakra blocks chakra, chakra disables chakra. That's where the Hyuga come into play.
