You're the train conductor. The brakes on the train have failed.
The train is coming to a fork in the tracks. On the left side is your
mother tied down to the tracks. And on the right side is
your best friend. Do you turn the train to the left or right side?

hmm, a hard decision I see, but the train conductor has no choice in the direction the train will head. train tracks that have a split are computerized and controlled at headquaters, they move according to times train pass tracks etc. and are locked, trains just go with the flow...haha

And in this case, the train tracks should be automatically set, besides all trains usually have two brakes, normal brake and emergency brake, both run on different platforms of connection, therefore one brake to fail will not cause the emergence brake to fail.

That's probably true. But this is a hypothetical situation in which you
are in complete control of which way the train turns. Also by brakes
failing...I mean completely.
