Phoenix Wright vs Shikamaru Nara

Try this debate and see how it goes:

Animal, Asura and Human Paths vs Kisame, Kakuzu and Jiraiya

Location: Open grassfield with a decent body of water nearby. (no larger than a small river).

Restrictions: Animal Path can only use 2 summons at a time, Kakuzu has 3 hearts (Lightning, Fire, and Wind) and only 2 may be out of his body at a time.


Conditions: Jiraiya can have up to two summons..and Ma and Pa toad count as a 1 summon for Sage Mode...if you decide to use Ma and Pa toad then Sage Mode is instant (no length of time wank on his Sage Mode).

Distance: They start out 150 meters away.

Alright so how's this gonna start out?

I mean is it like a normal debate, or like UNS style more, or what?

This is how it will work:

Phoenix you will start the debate by playing out which side you think will win...Shikamaru has to counter in some way.

I will judge this by seeing how well you explain your sides more than who actually wins this hypothetical battle. (much like the War System battles).

It will be no more than 20 posts total..and I will decide the winner and state reasons why.

The Debate

Spoiler:

Kisame, Kakuzu and Jiraiya take this with relative ease. Although the other team consists of three Paths, Animal being the most threatening,he tends to stay away from his oponents.

Kisame, being one of the fastest on that side could get to him with little time gap,in which he kills him with Samehada, which he can swing around like a branch in human hands. Animal hasn't shown the best taijutsu feats.

Human path excels in taijutsu, however many techniques in Jiraiya's arsenal, or even Kakuzu's hearts could defeat him. Jiraiya could burn him to death, Human's most impressive speed feats, Jiraiya can outmatch.

Jiraiya having two summons, he could use Gamabunta to reach Asura pain, shall he fly in the air. His speed feats aren't that great however, Naruto blitzed him, Kisame should be able to. If not, Kisame always has water dome and he should have prep for Kisamehada, Gamabunta could give it to him.

Since Water Dome follows him, he could suck out the chakra of any member of the opposing team if they were alive.

If Kakuzu somehow was hurt, his hearts could heal him. Jiraiya's throat was literally gone, he survived from sheer willpower for a few minutes. Kisame has regeneration. He withstood a Lariat from KB and laughed, then proceeded with growing his stomach and neck portion of his body back.

Although I agree that the right team take it with ease, I disagree that Kisame could get Animal quickly. Animal proved to keep a distance of say 15 yards? Animal could easily attack in the time it takes for Kisame to get there. My theory would be more like this:

Kakuzu spams hearts as a distraction, and Kisame either
-Speedblitzes him (With awesome. xD)
or
-Puts Animal in Water Dome and drowns Animal.

Heart spam is enough to take out a Taijutsu specialist (Human). Jiraiya is easily up to par in speed.Jiraiya does Boss Summons and summons Gamabunta. Gamabunta steps on Human and Human blows up and dies. (Or pops. )

Phoenix? That you? Or maybe you're drunk? Since when does Jiraiya need two summons to beat Asura? I'm pretty sure one is all he needs. Two is just draining his chakra, further, slowly killing him. Speed feats on Asura are = slow as crap, so burning him with Fire Style shouldn't be too much of a problem for Jiraiya.

Kisame managed to keep up with 7 Tailed Hachibi, while in initial jinchuriki mode blitzed Sasuke. Naruto threw FRS at the female animal, she didn't have great enough speed to dodge. Especially if he uses his water dome, it could absorb the summon's chakras as well.

Water dome could easily allow Jiraiya time for Ma and Pa, then he can proceed to put the other team in a genjutsu, then kill them, GG. If Water Dome cant entirely solo the other team, Gamabunta could also provide Jiraiya with prep time.

As for Kakuzu he most likely wouldn't be defeated by the other team unless Jiraiya and Kisame are taking too long. I see Head Laser as the only threat while Kisame can regenerate and Jiraiya would most likely have a summon out as it is.

One person dying by Head Laser isn't a huge loss, although Kakuzu should potentially tank it with Iron Skin. It took chakra rods themselves to pierce Jiraiya's skin in Sage Mode.

While Asura's speed feats aren't too great I can easily see him dead before releasing it.

Human gets taken out easily, everyone on the right team is powerful in terms of strength. The only problem I can see is him trying to remove anyone's soul however his speed isn't that great and while going against something as strong as Samehada he'll most likely be chopped in half before he can attempt it.

Oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-that's a hella long, bro.

I'm not saying that she has to dodge, making a few signs takes much less time than jumping out of the way, and FRS isn't slow, so it's understandable that she couldn't dodge it.

Why use SM? Base Jiraiya isn't slow, and he SM barely enhances speed. Power isn't a factor because he's not weak either, his defenses are off the charts, because he was able to tank a punch from Tsunade. (Without dying, just broken bones.)

Kisame and Jiraiya couldn't possibly take long enough for Kakuzu to die three times, he has showed some tanking abilities with his hardening ablility.

Kakuzu could just act as a human sheild because of Iron Skin, why waste SM when Kakuzu is a sheild already, again?

Human couldn't possibly take any souls, that's normally for one on one, if he tries, the remaining two just counter and get nice and close to Human and either
-Suck out all of his Chakra
or
-Just deal some sort of deathblow.

SM is overkill, that's why. He wouldn't need it but he could easily get prep if the other team doesn't get blitzed first. Animal got away from FRS because Nagato sacrificed Human path.You saying SM barely enhances his stats, is that statement really necessary? Why would he waste all that prep fighting Animal path if it barely enhances his speed and power? With Sage Mode he sent a huge summon flying through the wall.

I never said that it doesn't enhance power, that's its power. But it barely enhances speed. Overkill is unecessary because it's...well, overkill. He doesn't need that kind of power though, so why is it necessary in the first place?

You said Power wasn't a factor, while really it makes a large difference. It's not Sage Mode's power, Naruto could beat Jiraiya. Base Jiraiya, arguably could not have thrown the summon so if Animal doesn't die from the beginning he would need it.

I mentioned Iron Skin.

For safety? If you were 80% sure youd live, but could bring a knife for safety, would you?

If he has enough power already, there is nothing to be precautionary about. Jiraiya is very strong in base anyway, there's just no reason to use SM if the battle is already won.

You both did an excellent job on your debating. A couple things however I did not see from either of you in your debate:

1) Asura strength feat- Ripped off SM Jiraiya's arm
2) As far as we know Iron skin is only helpful against Taijutsu and minimal damage physical attacks such as paper bombs etc...Head laser could quite possibly cut through him. (PW covered this though in one of his posts)


Besides all that you both provided excellent facts.

I declare Phoenix Wright the winner of this debate for the following reasons:

1) Stated at least a couple feats per person as well as demonstrated ability.
2) Went in depth but kept to his point and didn't stray off from his topics.
3) Provided viable arguments that some were never answered or countered.

Shikamaru Nara you came really close..but some of your last posts drifted away a bit and you also didn't counter everything of what PW said.
