A lightning clone would paralyze Kimimaro, as Kakashi moves in and executes him with a direct Lightning blade.

Kakashi has shown superior movement and reaction speed.

However, without Lightning blade or MS, he would not be able to defeat Kimimaro with normal weaponry or ninjutsu.

This would be a close battle, but I am going to have to give this one to Kakashi. Kakashi could use Kamui on him and he would be dead, however, if it missed then Kakashi would be worn out which Kimmimmaro would have the advantage which would eventually lead to Kakashi losing. Even so, I would say Kakashi would win.

I don't think this battle would be as close as people think. If that was the case, why would Kishimoto suddenly have elite Jonins like Kakashi be too busy while Sasuke leaves the village, it's obvious if Kakashi wasn't busy, he would had went as Sasuke himself, it just so happen people like Gai & Kakashi was too busy, so Tsunade was forced to sent Shikamaru & the people he choose.

I don`t think it is far-fetched to say Kakashi wins. After all, he did quite well against Edo Tensei Jinchuuriki!!!
