*sighs* Well, we don't know what happened to Rin at the moment, although there are some interesting theories floating around which try to explain what happened.

Now, as Rin was on a team with Kakashi, he will probably be the one to reveal what actually happened to her. But judging from the past context of him referring back to her, he said that he "failed to protect her", as his dying teammate Obito wanted him to. So since she hasn't made an appearance since then, it is highly expected that she somehow died since then but we still don't know specifically what happened.

Yes I think it might have been some time during that war, actually, since in one of the very first episodes Kakashi states that his best friendS' names are on the memorial stone, I dunno for sure, but that's what i'm guessing

i thought it was only singular 'best friend'? and it's referring to Obito? anyways i think everything would be revealed in a another Kakashi Gaiden, or maybe in the end he reveals some of his past to Naruto, relating to things Naruto's going through

Nah he put a plural, but yea, u might be right..unless she was just a filler character, I mean, she didn't really do anything but get captured and heal one wound

Rin was in the manga. She's not filler. She was there.

We don't know for sure what happened to Rin. It has only been hinted at that she died, not confirmed.
