Did anyone else like Gaara BEFORE he turned good?

It seems like Gaara has a lot of fans *cough* mainly fangirls *cough*, and a lot of them talk about how cute he is and how great his newfound personality is. Don't get me wrong, I love Gaara and I'm totally happy for him (especially in the recent-ish manga chapters) and that he figured it all out, but did anyone like him BEFORE he switched over? Personally I liked him ever since he was introduced and I saw the way he acted, not to mention his backstory. (I love the dark characters with the messed-up childhoods)

So, my question is: Did anyone else REALLY like Gaara before he changed? Why?

i liked gaara alot before he turned good. because he was a good character, with a pretty cool personality, and a past that couldn't help but make you sympathize for him.

yeah i liked him. i liked him enough to get a shirt with the "bad gaara" on it. i liked him because he was so passionate about what he believed in. even if it was something like that. it was dark and appealing. i still wear the shirt in honor of his younger days, but i like the changed gaara too.

I did. He was cool and werid. Like Naruto, but more death like. Also I loved how he was the first jinchuriki that wasn't naruto shown in the series xD

I liked him, too. He reminds me of noir characters...the dark world they live in, not to mention his tragic past...he was just such an interesting character. He went through a major change, and im extremely happy for him. But I still think he deserved to have attention even before he became Kazekage. He deserved it. Afterall, he never did anything wrong to make all those villagers not like him.

i liked his character before he turned good. He was kind of mysterious. i mean, you see this guy that is killing everyone and is totally dark and you're just thinking WHAT THE HELL?! but i also though that the whole idea of his character was interesting, to give naruto a way of viewing the life of a jinchurriki other than himself. You see that Naruto could have indeed ended up like Gaara if he had not been given the chance of getting a friend and that is the chance Gaara never had until Naruto came along. I thought that Gaara's character and story was something you could sympathize and empathize with.

I've always loved Gaara! In the beggining, he was so creepy and cool and I love characters like that. I loved him even more when they flashed back to when he was a kid. I don't see how anyone could hate someone that flippin' adorable! And now I just love him even more because he got everything together and I'm so happy for him because everyone respects him now and he really deserves some happiness.
