Personally I think he should. Asuma type weapons actually are a good idea IMO. I know katanas are a little overused but I think it would be nifty if Naruto got something like a katana.

Nah, I don't think Naruto needs a custom weapon that he has the seemingly limitless power of the Kyubi at his disposal.

I think the question, rather than does he need a custom weapon, is would he even USE the thing? Naruto is called the "knucklehead ninja" for a reason. He always charges in fists and head first, THEN he thinks about strategy. Sometimes. Most of the time he just keeps hurling himself at the problem until it gets knocked down.

If he were to have some kind of custom weapon though, I would say he would just need some kind of fist weapon he could wear like a set of gloves. Maybe some kind of lead weighted or studded knuckle gloves. Something to help him channel his chakra better would be helpful as well.

He needs his own weapon for sure. A morningstar migh be good for him. He could make the rasengan wrap around the end of the morningstar (the spiky part). So it'd be a rasengan on a stick.... more reach.

i think that a naginata would be able to combat swords and he could channel his chakra

maybe like others have said some sort of gloves so he can channel his chakra possible shoot out wind blades

if he knows or learns how to use earth style a kanobo would be perfect

water style he would use like a short sword maybe like sai's

or he brings out his zanpakto and stomps everyone. he makes an invisible wind dragon

If he gets a weapon it should be a long-range one like a huge metal stick with which he could make wind jutsus like temari's but in smaller range and also fight.Naruto having a weapon is a great idea but requires a lot of thinking

I have always been frustrated with how limited his attacks are, but recently i came to a realization. His useless shadow clone attacks that always make him look completely useless actually give him a big tactical advantage. It allows him to see his opponents abilities with little risk to himself, and then come up with a plan of attack which somehow he is actually good at.

How come he accomplished absolutely nothing but a new look after 3 years of training, but after a week or two he has mastered sage jutsu and surpassed Jiraiya? Why are Saske and Sakura the ONLY ninja to have gotten any more powerful than they were 3 years ago?

Not really, Naruto seems alright, his attacks are long and medium ranged, he never goes in close combat.

Its not that i dont think it would be cool,or that naruto doesn't need a custom weapon but i doubt he'd actualy want to use it being the character he is. although if he were to have custom weapons the would be along the lines of azumas blades.

Yes Naruto having weapons would definitely increase his arsenal of attacks and make his fight with Sasuke more interesting. It would give an advantage because most likely he would have a weapon that corresponds with his wind-nature chakra, but like stated by the weapon haters above it would agreeably ruin his fighting style which is more of a Ready, Fire, Aim deal. Also when he trains with KB he's gonna have to learn how to use some type of blade because KB's fighting style involves quick close combat with swords so how is Naruto gonna keep up or deflect if Sasuke couldn't even do it without getting sliced up.

How about a wakizashi? Looks like a katana, but alot shorter. Good defensive weapon but wouldn't look like it was copying Sasuke's sword quite so much. Its like a cross between the kunai and the katana!

definetly, in the seires almost every person who has an affinity to wind natured chakra has a weapon, temari:fan, asuma:trench knives, sora:claw extension things, so i rly want and think naruto should get a weapon idk what but he cant just keep using rasengan and bunshins for the rest of his life, also he needs to learn a jutsu that uses the original 12 hand seals because he needs some spice to his fighting style, and since wind is mid to close range a weapon would b nice

Well, Naruto could just live on Kage Bunshin and Rasengan for most of his life, as well as Sage Mode (Sennin Modo). Maybe he could learn some techniques from Kakashi and use them or train for another element, like water (Suiton) or fire (Katon).
