Hidan is also stronger than Shikamaru, but we clearly saw Shikamaru blow him into a million pieces and then bury him under tons of rocks. Shikamaru is smarter than Hidan, which lead to his slow death. Sasuke is also stronger than Naruto, but I am quite sure Naruto will be the one to kill Sasuke.

though this is a while back look at Neji vs Naruto to see neji's foot speed.(the part where Neji was running to Naruto). that is faster than Shika's speed and Neji has gotten faster.

Hidan didn't have problem dodging them. Plus Neji has byakugan so Shikamaru can't really sneak up on Neji.

Everyone knows Neji has one of the fastest hand speed in Naruto.

Shikamaru can't really has no way of killing Neji. Shadow possesion takes to much chakra. if Shikamaru can some how throw something at Neji without neji throwing something back, Neji can put up a wall of chakra (what he did with Naruto and Kidomaru)

Shadow sewing can be dodged.

Shadow strangle can be broken. Neji has more chakra and the best chakra control.

Neji wins for sure.We can debate on Shikamarus intelligence and strategic thinking all day if we wanted to,but the fact is;its overrated. Shikamaru has nothing which can catch Neji ,shadow Possesion,Shadow Strangle ,Shadow Sewing. None of them can catch Neji.

A)Neji is faster than them
B)With 360 degree field vision,Shika wont be catching him off guard.

Once Neji gets up close,Gentle Fist has him screwed over.
