It's like when someone posts something that has nothing to do with what's being talked about in a thread (On this and other forums) and random posts that show random/gross stuff (Like porn, download steps, websites,etc.)

It also is all the ad stuff that goes into your E-mail saying stuff like, "Like ___? Check out this site!" Spam isn't anything good and is very, very annoying. -_-

Not just that, spamming is also when you make a bunch of posts in a row without letting anyone else post in between them. It's also well known as post farming, because some people do it to increase their post count. If you create a bunch of threads all in a row, it's called thread spamming.

Spam is generally any posting that is either repetitive, repetitive, unwanted, and or repetitive.

Spam as far as computer terms came about with the advent of MASS emailing of garbage to people. They were SPAM emails, and were generally ads.

In forums, SPAMMING means many things but deidara330 cleared most of it up.

Basically don't post many times in a row, or post the same message all over, or post more than 2 times in a row.

Multiple things: if I go to a village I'm supposed to talk about village things. If I talk about cats, then I'm spamming. If I post hey! And then right after post: what's up! That's spam since you could put them into one post.

I thought the term came from the dude that sent a first spam message, he's in the Guinness book for "inventing" it. It even has his e-mail and says "You should spam him" and stuff.

this is actually a backronym which is a phrase constructed after the fact to make an existing word or words into an acronym
