What if Naruto and Sasuke (450)...

In chapter 450, Naruto states that they could be in each others shoes, so does that mean that Naruto would have been the one who wanted to destroy Konoha because the villagers hated him and resented him while Sasuke would be the one striving to become Hokage, and to protect the village, because that is what Itachi gave his life for. Although that would mean that Naruto would not care for Sasuke, and Sasuke would be trying to get Naruto back to the village. What do you think?

I think you mean 485, not 450

Yes, this isn't chapter 450. It's chapter 485. Otherwise, I'd be interesting if they had switched places. But does that mean that Naruto would have been tought by Orochimaru, and Sasuke by Jiraya ? It would be weird if so.

Yeah, that's right. He could be the one carrying so much hate right now and wanting revenge on the whole world especially Konoha just like Sasuke. He said the same thing when he first fought Gaara...the thing is that's not true. He keeps saying he didn't choose that path because he found people like Iruka who believed in him but I truly believe it's just the kind of person they are that makes them so different. Sasuke had even more opportunities to be recognized and loved...he didn't even have to try so that's just another excuse and another way to tell Sasuke that it's ok to keep doing what he's doing

I think you're right, Nartuo would never be Sasuke becasue he is nothing like him. Was Naruto a brooding jerk before he met Iruka? No, he was a prankster. I thought the point was Nartuo was like Iruka, which seems to be more and more true the older Naruto gets. Naruto sacrifices everything for others, like Iruka cares about all his students.

Sasuke was, is and forever will be a jerk. Whether he is an insane lunatic or not is another matter.

I see you guy's point, but I have to disagree. Naruto could have been like Sasuke. Naruto made different choices than Sasuke, which has turned them both into the person they are today. Sasuke wasn't a jerk until Itachi and Madara killed the Uchiha. They very well could have been in each others shoes.

But like you said, they are two different people. Sasuke has no inner strength, while Naruto has more than anyone in the world.

Naruto found strength in himself to face and overcome his pain. This is an inner strength that Sasuke lacks. The more Naruto faces his pain, the stronger Naruto gets. Add that with all the power ups (Sage mode, etc), and Naruto is one bad dude.

Sasuke has never really dealt with the pain caused to him by Itachi. Sasuke buries his unresolved pain further and further down in his heart as he gets more and more power ups. He thinks that becoming strong and getting revenge will make the pain disappear completely. So really, he thinks he is getting stronger but he is actually getting weaker. Sasuke used to be stronger, he was using Orochimaru. He had the will to not kill anyone. Now he is just a puppet for Madara. The more power ups Sasuke gets, the weaker he becomes.

I disagree, the first of what we saw of Sasuke, he was a jerk. From thinking he could take out Kakashi on his own to his disregard of Nartuo. Now certain events taught Sasuke better like being pounded into the ground by Kakashi and Lee's easy victory over him. But Sasuke actually had to change to be likable. He actually finally becae agreeable to his teammates. Then he threw that all away because apparently Naruto was getting stronger faster than him. I guess he never considered the fact that if Naruto was getting stronger while remaining in Konoha, he could too.

In any case, Naruto was never like that, he was a prankster. The worst that could have happened to Naruto was that he would be beaten down into nothing, but we have never seen Naruto hate others in the village. He only wants them to recognize him.

Now if your arguement is that Naruto is a much better person than Sasuke and this is the reason they became different. You will find no arguements with me. Naruto is better in almost every single way.

I don't think Itachi is involved here. I don't think he did what he did so Naruto wouldn't be the one to destory the village. I don't think he could of known about that.
