I just started playing recently. I was waiting for it to be free-to-play, then once it went F2P I waited until the college year was about over. Good thing too because afterwards all motivation was gone.

I am waiting to clean up my laptop and get more speed on my internet before starting to play in FTP, having played both KOTOR's I know I'll want to play as much as I can before hitting the roadblocks of FTP

There actually aren't many roadblocks. More like speed limits lol.

The level limit for everyone is 50 unless you buy DLC. The main problem is that you recieve reduced experience for everything but I also got a 3 or 4 minor experience boosts near the beginning of the game to make up for that so that getting through the beginning of the game wasn't just stupid.

Anyone can join guilds but only subs can access the guild banks unless you buy it with cartel points (paid for with real money), and the same with cargo holds (where you store items).

That's about the biggest things. Might be more that I'm missing. Really not too bad considering most F2P MMOs have a level cap.
