The second one you linked is an illustrated novel of the series. The first is the normal manga.

Ya beat me to it, yes, teh first one demonstrates the regular manga formatting of Naruto. It is volume 1, and goes up to the training that Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi do...or it starts. I haven't read the novel, but I think it'll be up to the part where Kakashi makes Cell 7 official Genin.
