Does Gaara ever use weapons?

Does Gaara use anything besides the sand to attack? Like shurikens, kunais, or even does he just carry a weapon pouch?

I don't think so. The sand is Gaara's only weapon, and he uses very well. I don't think I have ever seen Gaara use a kunai or any other type of weapon.

The Spear of Shukaku technique is a weapon he makes out of sand.

I think the OP is talking about if Gaara ever uses weapons made out of metal. (kunai, shuriken, etc.)

No he doesn't.All of his weapons and attacks are sand based.

It's not.

He does use a string javelin (sort of a spiked rope thing) in a filler arc. Other than that, no, he doesn't use ninja tools or weapons.

Yep, you are right. It was in the very last episode of the original Naruto series. In the Gaara vs. Seimei fight. It was filler, so it isn't canon.
