Do Translations Affect What You Buy?

So the translations in the Naruto manga and anime are different. Does this affect which one you buy? Personally, I would rather buy the manga, but I don't like the way Viz translates it like calling shadow clones dopplegangers and saying jutsu names like "art of..." and how the last name comes before the first; those nuances are just too annoying for me. Therefore, I buy the anime just because I thinkl the diologue is better.

Nah, it doesn't bother me. Maybe a little, but not to the point that it will keep me from watching it or reading it.

Not really; as long as I know what they're talking about, I'm fine with what I buy. I mostly buy the anime though, just so I can watch my favorite manga fights be animated and colored.

Yes. Translation is way for the translator to have some input on a story that he didn't write. I'm not talking trash about anyone, I'm a studying to be a translator, so I know it for a fact. The worst, is that Anime is japanese so there might be some cultural references that westerners don't understand. So they need to "go around" that. It's kinda like watching Family Guy dubbed in spannish.

Well, somethings are changed because if there isn't a solid translation, then they might have to make a few edits or changed. but it doesn't bother me to the point I don't buy it...

it was annoying the first time i got into Naruto, because i didn't know what the real name was and for me it seemed like the name kept getting switched. But now i don't care. I get and read the manga because the story is further ahead than in the anime. And i watch the anime (both japanese and english version) because it gives me something to do ^_^

Not in the slightest. What really affecs what anime or manga I would buy is if the story is so enteraining to me, that after I watched/read it the first time, I wouldn't be bored with it long after.

Nope it doesn't bother me one bit. But If I wanted something 100% raw I'll go with the mang.
