How would you stop the Akatsuki?

If you were about the Kage, possibly Hokage, replacing Tsunade (who has died or is just not around anymore) and are about the strength/skill of Jariaya. This is a general question, so not really any exact details about this. It can be at the start of Shippuden or where it currently is at now. But don't think of it in terms of specific characters, like telling naruto to use Sage Mode, just imagine most of your ninjas are generic jounin or chunins. So if you lead a generic, average village, what strategies would you use to stop the akatsuki? it's pretty open ended.

Sasori - Send an old konoichi and a young konoichi, both trained in medical Jutsu. They can be weak, it won't matter, since he has the power to stomp most Jonin without breaking a sweat, but finds his doom in the hands of women.

Deidara - Enlist the aid of a world famous art critic, to give Deidara a bad review, and if he doesnt cry himself to death, send a squad of Kakahi(For MS), Shino(Flying bugs, can also block his hands), Temari(Long distant ftw), and try to enlist Gaara's aid as well.

Hidan - Tell Shikamaru that Hidan killed his parents, but in reality, they're just hiding in the closet.

Kakuzu - Yamato and Naruto to handle this one. Add Rock Lee for uber speed.

Itachi - Oh noes!!! Guy Sensei for his Counter-Sharingan, Neji for Byakugan, Kakashi for a fair matchup, and Jiraiya for his expertise on Itachi's Jutsu.

Kisame - This one's tough. I'd use Guy Sensei again, for experience, Kankuro for his puppets and poison, Yamato because Wood Style > Water Style, and Sakura, mainly for healing purposes.

Zetsu - I have no flipping idea.

Konan - Nobody. I'd face her alone. For reasons I shall not state.

Pain - No matter what I do, I'm screwed. Basically it's all up to Naruto and his backup team of 20 Jonin. >.>

hehe.... I would support Atatsuki because some of them have good philosophy about things in the real world.

Tell them I captured a jinchuuriki, to get em all in the same place. Then a cleverly hidden nuclear device should take of the rest.

Heh heh Konan, same here but with Tsunade! Anyways I would probably tell them that if they stop attacking people i'd give them cookies

Kisame would be complicated. I would fill the chunin exam finals arena with water, and gather all my lightning style users there. then, when he comes in, he will say,*You fools* and will try to attack us with water sharks. But they will be defeated by the lightning style users. Then he will drain their chakra with his shark skin blade, but all the time he was fighting, he never noticed the jonin surrounding him. But by the time he does, their jutsu have been cast and he is beaten. then i would evacuate the village because of pain
