^because people keep on posting countless threads with the same questions and false (at least im 99% sure that all "news" regarding shippuden air dates are false)

I've taken the liberty to create a thread for all of us to discuss the dub of naruto shippuden, so that we don't clog the forum with a million "when is shippuden coming????!!!!11!!" threads.
feel free to discuss the anime, post news about the release (preferably if you have a reliable source and link-not just "its april 11th cuz i heard it on youtube"), and just discuss the latest episodes (no spoilers plz, meaning episode talk wont be happening until dub release). have fun!

SRhyse - We'll tell you more about the Shippuden Dub the very second we have more to tell.

Here's what we know (or at least what i know):
-There is NO official info on the dub's release
-we do know that there WILL be a dub. this has been confirmed by VA's such as Yuri and Maile (sasuke & naruto) since at least fall last year.
-there is also no info on what channel the dub will be airing on, if it will at all.

*If there's something new to say about this, I'll add it to the top and bottom of the topic.

i DO know the voices from Naruto Ultimate Ninja 4
whihc besides Sakura, Naruto, etc. the new Akatsuki Deidara and Sasori's voices have been heard so they may be in the anime. although i was looking forward to Quinton Flynn as Deidara but...the guy in the game sounded nice too ^^
and i was kinda worried how Sasori would sound buit they did a nice job, Chiyo and Ebizo were great too and older Naruto doesnt sound like older Satoshi(ash ketchum) -_-

In looking at the episodes it seems like they have redrawn the scenes and mapped them to english audio.

what do you mean? they just go over the original voice track with english voices.
which episodes are you referring to?

agreed on all of that. and i guess its really up in the air on who's going to be deidara. i liked both actors, either would be fine with me. i think flynn sounded a bit more evil, and whoever played deidara in the game was more calm and "artsy" lol

I'm 99% sure it's a dub. They generally don't make the mouths for the voices 'precise' in televised anime, which gives us some wiggle room with how natural we can make the english voices appear.

I only have a DS... does Kakashi's voice sound the same, or can you tell?... I hope so (fingers crossed!!!)!!

I totally agree!! I hate having to read when my eyes want to take in ALL the action and pausing it just doesn't work!! You lose the fluidity... besides, I love hearing Kakashi's (Dave's) voice. He's always so calm...well, most always... However, that said, the CD of Naruto Allstars has the japanese actors singing Naruto songs and I really like that Kakashi's voice as well - they all sing well (great CD!!)...

I prefer subs, but I have watched so many that I don't have the "tracking" issues people previously have posted. To each their own. There are benefits to both, but many people get bored of the reused english voice actors after watching a lot of anime. I accept that the japanese voice actors are just as reused but as I am not fluent enough to notice, subs are the better choice for me.

lol, if thats the case then they pretty much have me fooled. There have been some anime where it was pretty obvious that the mouths didnt match anything the characters said for english, but for Naruto is extremely hard to tell.

In the worst case scenario, that the dub doesnt air on tv, I wonder, are the chances high that we would at least see it as a DVD release?
