He's not sending them to Iraq, but to Afghanistan. This is actually is his first smart move in my mind, as he has no support to gain from the right and he is investing in solving the problem by known methods instead of trying to appear as a pacifistic war leader. Pretty much if he didn't send them he'd be shooting himself in the foot.

It should have been the full forty thousand, as was requested, especially considering his relatively quick withdrawal date. He has NO idea how things will play out over there, nobody really does, all we can do is strategize and hope. To say before hand that you WILL withdraw in 18 months is absurd, who knows how the situation will be at that point? I am glad that he at least sent additional forces, to aid the ones already over there fighting, and set a dominant presence throughout the region.

but yeah this is just one of those things Obama should do to get the Republicans off his back. at the expense of good american soldiers lives and the families they will leave behind. not to mention the billion dollars worth of the people's money being spent on a gamble in that war..to think there's a lot of american people going hungry and out of jobs that could benefit more if those money will be spent for them..

Yes I would, thats why I'm going to Job Corps, to get my GED and every FAMA there is (about over 300 if I recall) and I well get 40 collage Credits with the FAMA's, I really feel this war is really stupid, like WTH all we have to do to win this war is tell our solders is Shot who ever you feel is going to kill you out there, but no it's not like that, The Sniper Needs to call HQ and ask if he can shot the guy who's striping a bomb to him self and to the car, HQ calls back after 10mins of waiting and tells the Sniper to go a head and take the shot, and the Sniper calls back saying he lift, this is not a war, this is the USA trying to be the damn Hero, they need to stop this, and WTH ya all mean if we just lift the war we would seem weak, when all we have to do is push the button and end the world that we live in, this war had Stupidity written all over it

You cant just throw federal money at a problem like Unemployment and hope that it solves itself. The great majority of jobs available to citizens are in private companies or publicly traded ones, which the govt. has little control over, and for good reason (capitalism and all that). These are based on the Economy, which has been suffering, and not just ours, take a look at countries around the globe and you'll see the same.

As to why we are at war, we are at fault, in that we supplied Osama Bin Laden and his Taliban militants decades ago, who were it not for our financing, would not pose AS severe a threat. Still, a huge attack on American soil costing countless innocent lives will never go unnoticed, just take a look at Pearl Harbor, and what we did THEN.

and yeah it all boils down to the economy thing. as wars are just products of political agenda which were mainly because of economic struggle. capitalism indeed breeds these wars. the greed to have it all
and since all is about economy why not start solving your economic instabilities IN your own country..Reform how things are done. maybe bring back and live the Keynesian economics. Socialism perhaps. then the government will really be for the people...but hey how can you do that when those that are in the government are the ones benefiting in this capitalist system. the government is a big running business after all. even Obama can't do much when the Republicans gang up on him..xD

I dont know a damn thing? Like the proper usage of words for instance? Look at the red, that should PROBABLY be the word firm. And I never said we were going to drop a nuke at all, but there is a great comparison in the two. Its called a body count in the thousands for people who didnt deserve to die. And in both situations, the United States refuses to allow such attacks to go unpunished. I never said anything about us dropping a nuke now. And I dont subscribe to the conspiracy that our government blew up the world trade center either. The reason we have a 'moment' each year is to offer our condolences for the victims and their families, and remember their tragic loss, and honor the brave few who came to try and help. You are SO insensitive its ridiculous.

Capitalism breeds wars? So Russia, Germany, North Korea, Vietnam, you know, all those communist and socialist leaders who started wars, what happened there? And I laugh at the Republicans 'ganging' up on Obama, you realize that his party holds the majority in the white house and in congress, right? They can all gang up, and it still wouldnt matter. Which they dont do anyway, as one or two are always flipflopping to the other side when they get a favorable stipulation for them or their state in some bill.

We are trying to fix the economy, but you cant just throw money at that either. Trillions of dollars in stimulus (Bush and Obama) and our unemployment to date is higher than ever before. Prime example as to how money cant solve everything. And until they can get the right reform, then its just an empty word. I am personally a fan of offering a tax break to any business that increases its payroll (amount of employees working). That provides great incentive for employers to hire.

Whereas Socialism provides incentive for nothing. If I could work my @## off and make as much as if I did next to nothing, then what's the point. Where is desire to be ingenuitive, creative, free thinking, or competetive, when all you work hard for is spread around, instead of put where it is EARNED. Capitalism is NOT the problem.

In '74 or '75 we put Saddam in power we wouldn't offically recogize Iraq until he fixed a few things.So he basically goes communist,gets a butt load of T 45 & 55 tanks and sets up a war with Iran and so on.Then we set up the afgan rebels to fight communism and pull out as soon as the soviets head for home.In 90 we help out

He's allowing politics to govern his policies. He cares more about reelection more than doing what needs to be done.

Obama and Republicans will never get along. And this won't feed anyway. We won't see any of this money. Our taxes will remain the same, all that will change is decreased gov't spending.
