I'd say Dosu takes this. Zaku seems arrogant while Dosu has is more level-headed. Plus Dosu's attacks are said to be extremely painful to the inner ear.

Unless Zaku could find a way to negate Dosu's melody arm, he couldn't win. Though, being teamates, I'm sure they know each other's weaknesses, so Zaku might be able to come up with something (of course, so could Dosu). Zaku is strong and has a lot of aggression, but Dosu is more skilled and has a level-head.

I personally like both characters quite a bit, it's too bad they weren't developed. And to the previous post, both were relatively strong genin, they faced tough opponents and lost...certainly not utter failures.

Dosu is smarter and more brutal than Zaku, His jutsu is also more deadly,It severly injures your inner ear organs, and messes up your movements,while Zakus jutsu cuts you and isnt much of a threat unless your an immobile target. Dosu wins.

If it's close range, Dosu is going to win, but if it's long range, Zaku is going to win, Dosu has no long range jutsu, and Zaku still has a chance at wining in close range, could Zaku not be able to use his Sound Blast in close range too?

Speed of Sound jutsu would allow Dosu to quickly get close to Zaku,long range or short range,it doesnt really matter,again if Zaku used his more powerful version of Slicing Sound waves,Dosu could use Speed of Sound Jutsu to avoid it.

is this something from the Deta Book? I never seen or read that Dosu can run at the Speed of Sound AKA Sonic, if he could he would own Gaara

Doesn't Dosu need to hit his opponent somewhere in order for his jutsu to work?

Close range: Dosu takes this

Far range: Zaku takes this.

Dosu obviously has more skill, he was leader of their team after all. He isn't cocky and arrogant like Zaku and therefore could easily take this. Dosu's jutsu is much more deadly than Zaku, although Zaku's is destructive. Dosu is also very strategic and could find a strategy in which he could defeat Zaku.

Zaku's jutsu also seems to have a few seconds of prepare time and it doesn't seem to be able to keep going continuously. Which gives Dosu yet another advantage.

before the first round of the exams Dosu,Kin and Zaku are seen travelling around very fast using speed of sound jutsu.

Zaku could win, since he has a longer range and his jutsu is more effective at closer ranges.
