Prologue

It was night, the moon was full and it was winter. Snow was on the ground and two people were running through the woods. One was a man.

“Come on it’s not that much farther” said the man.
“Jeff I’m tired, I’m cold, and I want to go home” whined the girl.
Jeff bit his lip. “Where were going is now home and don’t you want to see your friends?” said Jeff
“Yes, but,” then she fell to the ground “I can’t take another step!” said the girl.
“Hey! There they are get them!” Said voices behind them.
“Darn! They caught up to us!” Thought Jeff he quickly picked up the girl and ran. “I got to get her over the fence! We’ll be safe there!” Thought
Jeff. Running as fast as he could he finally reached the fence with the hunters right behind them. “I do not think I can make it” then he look at the girl
“but I know she can!” Jeff thought. He quickly turned around to see if the hunters were there. They were. They had them cornered. There were three of
them. One of them had a hat the other had a tattoo of a tiger on his arm and the leader had a scar shaped like an X on his face.
“Why don’t to come quietly so we don’t have to kill you.” Said the leader with a crooked smile.
Jeff looked at the girl. She had fear in her eyes and she was shivering. Jeff sighed “I have no choice” he whispered. “I want you to listen to me Amber. I
want you to go to the house I showed you a couple weeks ago. You’ll find your friends there and while your there the thing I want you to do is to live and
survive and nothing more then that” Said Jeff
“What you going to do?” Asked Amber
“I do not know but I want you to fly!” Said Jeff. Then he threw her in the air. “Fly! Amber! Fly!” Yelled Jeff “I want you to go and don’t look back! GO!”
Amber did what she was told. She quickly unfolded her wings and flew over the fence and headed to her new home.
“I love it when she fly’s” Said Jeff starring at her gold and white wings glistening in the moonlight. “She is most beautiful mutant I ever seen. Even the
Hunters were amazed but not the leader of the hunters. He quickly got his gun and aimed it at Jeff.
The leader chuckled a bit then said “It will be the last time you’ll ever see her.” Then he fired his gun

Chapter 1

(8 years later)

“You’ll never catch me!” I screamed at the guy I was running from.
“Wait and see you filthy girl!” Screamed the man.
I was carrying two big (dead) chickens that I stole from this guy chasing me. This was mostly my life; hunting, stealing, and running.
My name is Amber. I am 14 years old, have long goldish-brown hair, and brown eyes.
“I’m tired of chasing you!” He yelled. He unsheathed his claws (like wolverine) and sprinted toward me.
“So you are a Blade.” I thought. When he was about to strike, I quickly jumped into the air spread my wings and flew straight up. Oh ya,
I forget to tell you; I have wings, big, gold and white wings. They were a marvel to look at. I also have super strength, but like everyone on this side
of the fence, I was a mutant. I could hear the guy cussing me out below, but I didn’t care. I just turned and flew home.

Chapter 2

I was heading home in our little cottage in the mountains. It was a peaceful place. I was coming up to the house, when I heard a familiar voice.
“Amber’s back! Amber is back and she brought food!” I hovered over the yard and saw Breeze; a sweet little girl. She had brown-blonde hair and
brown eyes. I landed gracefully and she ran with supper speed and gave me a hug.
“I’m glad you’re back!” said Breeze.
“I am to.” I said
“Finally you’re back! It’s been an hour!” said another familiar voice.
“It’s hasn’t been an hour Holly,” said Breeze.
“Well, it still took her long enogh,” said Holly. Holly is as old as me, but she had long, brown, curly hair and brown eyes. I looked around.
“Hey, where are the boys?” I asked. They were usually outside playing with each other of sparring against each other.
“In the house,” Holly said.
“Fighting?” I asked, because if I know the boys, they were either playing out side of fighting about something foolish.
“Big time,” said Breeze. I started to walk to the house the others followed.
“So what’s it about this time?” I asked.
“Something about TV,” said Breeze.
I sighed. “I should have known,” I said. Then I gave the chickens to Holly.
“Here, hold these. I’ll take care of the boys,” then I went inside the house. I headed to the living room which was right next to the kitchen.
It was the only place we had a TV, in the room, the first thing I see is the boys wrestling on the ground.
“We’re watching Star Wars!” yelled one of the boys. He had blond hair and blue eyes.
“NO! We’re watching InuYasha!” yelled the other boy; he had curly brown hair and brown eyes.
“Blaze! Lazar! Cut it OUT!” I yelled at them. They quickly stopped fighting and looked at me.
“He started it!” yelled both of the boys at the same time, and pointed their fingers at each other.
“I do not care who started it! I’ll finish it!” I said roughly. They both looked at each other. “Blaze. You should know InuYasha is tomorrow on
Saturday, not Friday.” I told the boy with brown hair.
“So I was right, Star Wars is tonight! Told you Blaze! Said Lazar (the boy with blond hair).
“Ok, you were right.” Said Lazar grouchly.
“Ok, now that’s over with,” I said “Holly! Get the chickens prepared! I’ll be there to help in a sec. I need to go to the bathroom.”

Chapter 3

This was my family. There is only two differences between our family and other families. One, we are made of just kids. Two, we’re all mutants. We also have different powers. I have gold and white wings and super strength. Holly can turn into a black cat with red eyes, but while she is a cat, she’s as big as a full grown lion may be perhaps bigger and as strong as one too. Breeze has super speed. Blaze is a human flame thrower. He can shoot a stream of fire out of his mouth, and can shoot fireballs and streams of fire out of his fists and hands. Lazar can shoot lasors out of his eyes and hands. He had the same super power as Jeff.
When we were done cooking the chicken, I asked “Holly, can you set the table?”
“As long as you go get the others,” said Holly
“Ok,” I said. Then I started to walk down to the stairs. Once I was there, I yelled “Time for dinner!” Then I felt a gust of wind. I looked at the table and saw Breeze.
“I’m ready for dinner,” said Breeze
I laughed. “Breeze you’re fast.”
She smiled “I know.”
“Out of the way!” said Blaze. They we’re running down the stairs. I barely dodged them as they ran past me.
“No running in the house!” I said, then I walked to the table.
I sat down at the table and started to past the food.
“So where did you find the chickens?” asked Blaze.
“Yes, where did you find them?” asked Lazar.
Before I could answer, Breeze asked “Did you find them near the fence?”
Everyone froze, like time had stopped. Then they started to look at me.
“I…” then I was cut short because Breeze started firing questions.
“Did you see anyone? What’s their age? Did they give you the chickens? Did you go over the fence to steal them?”
After that last question I yelled “No! I did not go over the fence or see anyone! I was not even close to the fence!” I knew what I’ve done and just looked down at my plate. “The fence,” I thought “The worst place in the world.” The fence was a barrier that split North America in half. Starting frome the top east border of Montana and it goes straight down. It also borders Canada and Mexico. They call our side of the border “The West.” Our side was mutants only and the other side is human only and I knew that even if they found one mutant on the human side they shoot and kill us. It was also the sight where Jeff had died.
Holly hissed “You know you shouldn’t talk about the fence! You know how she feels!”
“Sorry.” Said Breeze
“It’s ok your just curious about the fence.” I said
“Too curious,” Holly whispered “If you ask me.” Then we finished dinner, and watched the new Star Wars episode and went to bed.
