Chapter Seven: Invasion and Betrayal~

Finally, by nightfall, the Black Horse Head Quarters came into view. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you might have just walked right by it. The building was perfectly camofloged into the forest. Everyone seemed both realived and afraid to have finally reached this hidden place. Cinnamon smiled and put her hand on her sword. "Ryaque, this should be fun....won't it?" I nodded at pulled out my own sword. "We're going to split into teams in order to infultrate the HQ. Cinnamon, Aquamarine, and Flara you three will go around the back and find another way in. Mikiko and Kiyomaru you're both with me." Kye got nervous then. "Ryaque, what about me?" I handed him a small dagger and replied "It's too dangerous for you to come. Stay here and wait for us. If anything happens, run." Kye really didn't like the idea but he agreed to stay none the less. "Ryaque, do you want me to protect you from the bid bad Black Horses?" Mikiko teased me and gave me a weird look. Kiyomaru cut in before I could. "Have you ever seen this girl fight? I think she would protect you."

The others had already left to find another way while Mikiko, Kiyomaru, and myself had broke in through the front. We hide in the ventalation to avoid being spotted and where silently creeping through the complex. A whole army of Black Horses were here. Men, woman, and I could have swore I even saw a couple daemons here, but they were all in chains. "Ryaque," Mikiko whispered, "why are there daemons here?" I turned back toward him and said "To study them, but after they're finished...they are tortured and killed...." Kiyomaru shivered as I said this. He must have had that happen to him.

Quickly and quietly, all three of us crawled through the vents. Room after room of Black Horses were in our sights until we came to the one we where looking for..."Listen, everyone. I am here to inform you of your new mission reguarding the assassination of the daemons of our world. Recent intel reveals that a legendary daemon, Ryaque the Mysterious, has surfaced into the world once again, and she wants revenge. I warn all of you to not approach this daemon directly for she is a master swordsman. Do not, however, run from her either because she will catch and slaughter you. I suggest that you all travel in 20 man teams. That should be enough to atleast slow her for alittle while back-up arrives to help." So, Seargent Wilks wants to capture me? The fool....20 isn't enough. Mikiko gave a amused chuckle. "Like that'll be enough for you honey." Then a muffled grunt came out when I kicked him. "Shut it you rapid dog." Then I instantly regreted it when the Seargent appeared under us. "Men, we have guests..." In an instand the vents were cut and we fell into the room.

Grabing my sword, I stood up and looked around. There must have been 1,000 of them in what appeared to be a hanger for planes. Seargent Wilks grinned and motioned for him men to prepare for a fight. "Here I am trying to hunt you down, but you just come to me. How delightful." In an instant I was behind him and holding a sword to his neck. "How delightful I can kill you right here infront of all your men, Wilks." I whispered into his ear. Kiyomaru and Mikiko pointed their weapons at the troops with menacing smiled on their faces. "Come any closer and I'll rip you all to shreds and eat you...." Mikiko rolled his eyes "and eat them? SOOO scary...." He growled and the troops in the front lept back. "Ryaque, are you really going to kill me?" He asked me and slowely pulled out a dagger from his belt, hoping I wouldn't notice. "Of course...just like I killed your family all those years ago...how old where you? Five, six maybe?" I kicked him to the ground and laughed as he scrambled to get up. "You monster....you're the one who killed my family?!?! I WILL KILL YOU!!!!" He charged at me but I easily parred his attack. Mikiko dove into the troops and started slicing and dicing them up like tossed salad; Kiyomaru, on the other hand, turned into his true forms and tore them to pieces. You could see the exstacy on his face as he tasted their blood. "So much for your men, Seargent Wilks." My sword caught fire and I slashed at his neck, grazing him slightly. His neck burned and blood sweeped from the wound. "I don't care about them...they're weak...all I want...IS TO DESTROY ALL DAEMONS!!!" He jumped back then jumped high and tried to attack me from the sky, but he failed. I spun and avoided his attack and gave him a big burning gash on his chest. Seargent Wilks ignored the pain and dove at me once again, but I was too quick and avoided him again while giving him a wound on his back. "Damn you...." I hissed at him then gave him a bleeding wound on both his arms. "This isn't a very interesting fight...." Laughter erupted from his mouth as his woundes suddenly healed. "Who said I was fighting? I'm just getting warmed up...." Quicker then before, he got behind me and sent his sword through my chest.

Kiyomaru looked up and howled as he started running toward me. Mikiko stood infront of him and shook his head. "She'll be fine...."

Crimson colored blood dripped from my mouth. "It's been a long time...since someone has done that to me..." Grabbing the edge of his sword, I broke it as if it was a stick and elbowed him in the face. He fell back while I removed his sword and threw it on the floor. "You're...not a normal daemon......you're a freak...." He said as he slowely stood up. "Maybe...but I'm the freak who killed you..." Without another word, my sword plugged itself through his heart. Blood splattered on my face and Seargent Wilks lost all light in his eyes. "It's over..." Pulling my sword out, I watched Kiyomaru fighting off the last remaining troops, but something was wrong. "Kiyomaru, where is Mikiko?" Suddenly he was behind me with a knife to my throat. "You're a fool for letting your guard down...." Mikiko wrapped his arm around me to stop me from getting away...."I'm going to make you mine, even if I have to force you!" Kiyomaru was there in a second, biting his leg, he forced him off of me, but he soon got a dagger to the head. I staggered back and held my sword as Mikiko approached me...."Why??" I demanded, anger welling up inside of me. "Because tonight is the full moon, not only am I stronger, but you're also hurt and weakened...I will make you mine...." Tearing sounded filled the room as Mikiko changed into his werewolf form and pinned me to the ground. His teeth were just about to bite my neck when someone pulled him off.

"Mikiko, what the hell are you doing? This wasn't the plan!!!!" Flara yelled and kicked him in the face, making him yip. Cinnamon appeared followed by Aquamarine. "You were supposed to kill her after Seargent Wilks was killed! NOT MAKE HER YOUR MATE YOU STUPID DOG!!" I couldn't believe my ears. I must've been hearing it wrong. "You were all planing to kill me? WHY!?!?!" Aquamarine walked over and knelt next to me. "We know your weakness, Ryaque. You get weak during the full moon. You were stupid to plan an invasion during your weak period. As soon and Mikiko joined we planned to overthrow you...why? Because you old daemons only care about yourself!!! You're nothing and you deserve to die!!!" Aquamarine tied me up and gagged me so I couldn't call for help. I only have one more shot before they kill me......I closed my eyes and started preparing myself. Cinnamon turned into her dragon form and slowely walked over to me, planing to burn me alive. "I'm sorry, Ryaque, I really am...." She opened her mouth and realised the crackling flames...."FOOLS!!! I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL!!!" They all gasped as they saw my true form....a giant tiger. My fangs were long, my fur was ruffled, and I looked like I just got out of hell. My eyes were completely white and my claws were dripping with blood. Green acid oozed out of my mouth and I glared at them....in one instant it was over....Flara, Cinnamon, Aquamarin, and Mikiko were burned and torn to pieces.

Turning back to normal, I fell to the floor and felt darkness engulfing me...."No Ryaque, you'll die if you fall unconcious....don't....don't....don't..." The last thing I saw where a pair of legs running to me...then blackness...

Chapter Eight: How Many Are Still Loyal?~

When I woke up, I wasn't really sure how I should've reacted. Most of my friends, or whom I thought were my friends, were dead and by my own hand. That's when I started thinking. Why didn't I see it sooner? They're right...I was stupid to plan an invasion on a full moon....my weakness....Seargent Wilks is dead. My purpose in life is over, but I'm not dead? I should be. I should just give up on life....I have no point to live anymore....Over and over I tried to convince myself that I should just die, but somehow something, and I'm not sure what, was holding me back from death. Whatever it was, the feeling was new to me. I haven't felt it in over 1,000 years....Love....Finally, I opened my eyes and smiled at the sight I beheld.

Kye was watching over me, tears filled his eyes. Just to the left of him, Kiyomaru was asleep, in his normal form, and covered in bandages. Kye smiled when he saw me. "Lady Ryaque...you're alive!!!" I wasn't sure if he was brave or just stupid, but he hugged me tight while the sobs returned once again. "Kye, did you think I was dead?" I asked him and gently pushed him off. "To tell you the truth, yes. I was terrified. You are the only person who treated me with kindness in my life.....I am in your debt." Slowely and sorely, I stood up and looked around. We appeared to be just outside the Black Horse Head Quarter, or what was left of the building. Thick smoke filled the air and burned inside my lungs. Did I.....cause that? Kye stood next to me and helped me walk over to Kiyomaru, who was still unconcious. "Kiyomaru, wake up!!!" I yelled and kicked him. Finally his eyes opened and in an instant he was on his feet. "Ryaque, I'm so glad you're safe...." I waved my hand, cutting him off. "Not now...we must leave.....Kye come on." All three of us ran, leaving the burning hell behind us to be turned to ash.

We stopped near a river and finally looked at our injuries more closely. Kiyomaru was burned bad but wouldn't have any perminent damages. Kye was covered in blood, but he told me he had to fight his way in and most of the blood wasn't his. He's either lieing, or a lot stronger then I originally though....Kiyomaru looked at me and smiled. "Ryaque, I never knew you had it in you.....your true form? You're getting close to me with how strong you've gotten...." Kye looked at Kiyomaru then I; confusion was on his face. "Oh please, Kiyomaru, I surpassed you long ago. Don't make yourself sound so tough...I'm older too anyways." Kye's confusion just got worse, but he didn't inturrupt. "Kye I'll explain later..."

That night was a full moon again. I felt weaker then normal, but I was used to it......inside my head I heard my mother telling me about daemons...

(flashback)
"Yes, Ryaque, you must becareful on the full moon. Cat Daemons are vulnerable on that night....every daemon has a weak point and the full moon just happens to be yours." I was 10 at the time....still only a kid, and still trying to accept my trueself. "But why mother? Why do daemons suffer weak periods?" Softly stroking my hair, my mother smiled and replied, "everything and everyone has their weaknesses. Some are emotional, some are phyisical...just the way things are..." I nodded and smiled back at her....."Thank you mother....I'll remember."
(prestent time)

How foolish I was back then.....I was just learning how to control myself and I thought my parents would always be there for me....I was so foolish...My memories flooded into my mind and I laughed at every single one. Only a handful didn't invole my parents in some way....then I remember the day they left me....the day I died....

(second flashback)

Father was gather up everything I owed and put it in a small bad. "Listen Ryaque, we're sending you to your aunt's house. We need to calm the villagers down now that they know what you really are." I was 15 when they left me. I was oblivious of what really was going on. I was just confused. Did I do something wrong? Why do they hate me...is it because I'm different?? Father finally finished packing and handed me the bad. "Here you are dear. Go outside, a carrige is waiting for you..."

The carrige driver looked mean and nasty with scared everywhere on his face. He was wearing a dark cloak and black gloves over his hands. His hair was a orange/yellow color and he had a strange russian accent. "Are you the one taking me to my aunt's house?" I politely asked as I stepped into the carrige. "You could say that...." He muttered.

Looking out the window, forests and lakes passed by us. The country side was beautiful in so many ways to me. I couldn't imagine ever leaving it. Suddenly the carrige stopped and I was thrown into the dirt; my bad landing on my head. "Be gone fowl daemon. You are here-by banished from your land by order of your mother and father, the king and queen. If you dare come back, we shall kill you on the spot...." He cracked the whip and the horses jolted to a start. I tried to chase after him but he was too fast....tears flooded from my eyes as the carrige dissappeared from view...I was alone....I was different....and I was hurt beyond anything anyone could ever imagine.
(present time)

I sat in a tree, remembering everything I had forgotten or wished to hide. The moon shined and seemed to almost be mocking me. It wanted me to remember all my pain.....it wanted me to remember all my sorrow.....and now I remembered why I truely hate humans.....because of my damned mother and father...."Lady Ryaque? Where are you?" Kye inturrupted my skulking as he called my name. "Lady Ryaque? Are you here?" He called after me again...he was right below the tree I was in. Hanging upside down, I appeared infront of him and made him jump back. "What is wrong Kye?" He regained his composure quickly and scratched his head. "Well, I wanted to know the real reason of why you saved me....and I was to learn about daemons. You're the first one I met that..." "...that didn't try to eat you?" Kye blushed. "Yeah.....will you tell me?" I grabbed him arm and in one mighty swing we were both up in the tree again. "I'll tell you.....it all started when I was born a daemon....."

The night dragged on and on; Kye being absolutely silent the whole time while I told him about my deeds and sorrows. Never once did he interrupt or take his gaze off of me. When the story was finished Kye smiled at me. "Lady Ryaque, do you hate me because I am a human?" I laughed and shook my head. "No, I don't hate you....you're the exception...."

Kiyomaru walked through the forest and nearly fell over laughed when, up in a hight tree, he was a red haired daemon and a brown haired human holding eachother and sleeping away soundly. The moon dissappeared behind the clouds.

Chapter Nine: He's Back~

A bird was whistling in my ears and awoke me. Opening my eyes, the sun blinded me it was so bright. Kye was laying next to me on the branch, asleep and hanging onto me. Looking down, I saw Kiyomaru asleep at the base of the tree. "I wonder if....he saw us." My thoughts accidently formed words and Kiyomaru looked up at us. "Ryaque, are you sure you're not bonded with Kye?" Joking or not that really got on my nerves. "I'm not bonded with him.....so shut up about it...." Kiyomaru climbed up to the branch and smiled a teasing sort of smile. "Oh really? So how come you're turning red?" I hide my face behind my hair and tried to think of any excuse..."I have sun burn...." Kiyomaru chuckled softly and ran his hand through his hair. "Ry, you don't need to be ashamed of it you know. If you remember....you once loved humans...a long time ago..." I glared at him, wanting so bad to choke him but deciding better of it. Suddenly the bushes rustled underneath us and a fimiliar figure appeared.

"Ryaque....where are you.....Ryaque...." Mikiko sounded desperate to try to find me. Not noticing us, he ran and dissappeared into the forest. "How did he survive???" I shrugged and looked in the direction he dissappeared. "I guess werewolves really are invulnerable on the full moon. I see no other way." Kye woke up then and yawned. "Good morning Lady Ryaque, Kiyomaru....." Kye saw the looks on our faces and his mood instantly changed. "What is it?" Kiyomaru covered Kye's mouth and whispered. "It's Mikiko...be quiet or he'll..." "THERE YOU ARE!!!!" Mikiko appeared out of nowhere and grabbed me, making us both fall to the ground. I slowely got up and prepared to fight him off if needed be but he didn't look mad. He looked happy...and he had a weird look in his eyes. "Ryaque, please, why won't you accept my love? I didn't betray you...I never raised a hand toward you...." Slapping him across the face, my anger of his betrayal refueled. "Oh really? Then why didn't you tell me that Cinnamon, Flara, and Aquamarine were planning on killing me?" Mikiko stepped closer to me and hugged me. "Because I didn't think you would believe me, I acted like I was going to help then was planning on saving you when the time came....." For some reason...my heart started beating faster as he held me in his embrace...What is this feeling? Is it.......love? Finally I shoved him away. "Mikiko, leave me alone.....never chase after me again and if I ever see you....I will kill you. I PROMISE!!!" With that I dissappeared and Kiyomaru and Kye followed me, leaving Mikiko on his knees. His sobs echoed in my ears and secretly my heart was crying along with him....what have I done?
