Chapter Four: One More Daemon~

We all walked silently through the woods. Mikiko had gotten into a fight with Flara and lost..shamefully. He now had a nice little scar, or should I say HUGE scar, on his leg; Flara didn't even look like she was touched. Finally we were out of the forest and saw great moutains before us. "Wait a minute, Ryaque, are you leading us to the Mountains of Lost Souls?" Cinnamon asked as she tried to hide her fear. "You guessed it. I know someone that lives on those mountains..a very old someone. I'm not ever sure if they're around anymore but it's worth a look." Aquamarine looked at the mountains and didn't seem to get why Cinnamon was so scared. "What's so bad about the Moutains of Lost Souls?" Mikiko started laughing and nearly fell on the ground. "You don't know? That's where the war started...I think Ryaque can explain it better though..." Mikiko gave me an expectant look, along with everyone else. I groaned. "Fine I'll tell you. I as you know am very old....but what you may not know is...I was there when the war started. I was there when we were discovered and attacked...it was about 1,000 years ago..."
(flash back)
"Hey, Kiyomaru, what are you doing?" Kiyomaru laughed. "I'm training Ry, I have a feeling that something big is coming." I gave him a puzzled look. "Like what?" Kiyomaru put away his sword and looked serious. "The humans know we exist now...there is a chance they will retaliate against us...you of all people should know how bad humans can be..." "Yes, I do know..but still...why would they attack us? We never did anything to...." Suddenly a group of humans emerged from the fog. They had special weapons, especially desinged for daemon slaying. "All of you vermin from hell shall go back to where you came from!!! This is our world..and we shall never accept daemons into it..EVER!!!!" Flaming bombs were dropped onto us..many of my kind were caught by surprise and murdered. They swarmed into the camp and killed or captured anyone that they could..including Kiyomaru. "Ryaque," he yelled, "don't let them take you away Ryaque!!! Fight them..I know you can!!!!!!" The next thing I knew I was slammed into the ground and men stood over me. "It's a weak one, she'll be good to keep alive..for now..." Rage welled up inside of me.."You..you filth..you monsters...you took my friend...YOU SHALL PAY!!!"
(present time)
"By the end of the day all the humans were torn apart. The ground was bathed in their blood...none of the daemons survived however...only me. My friend vanished...I never could find him again...and that day everyone saw me for what I was..I monster." Flara put her arm on my shoulder. "Ry, don't feel bad...you were just upset..it's not like you litteraly turned into a monster..." I looked away and tried to hide my tears. "That's just it...I did...I discovered my true form...." Cinnamon's jaw dropped. "Wow Ryaque, only exceptionally powerful daemons discover their true form..you're so lucky." I shook my head. "No I'm not..but this doesn't matter..we are going to those mountains to see if anyone is there, then we're heading to the Black Horse HQ. Come on." I walked away but I heard Aquamarine whisper. "If Ryaque had discovered her true form.....she is more powerful then I orginally thought."

Mikiko had been trying to sniff out the daemon here but was not succesfull. "If anyone is here they are damn good if they can hide from me." "I know they're here..look." I pointed and up near the top of the mountains a figure was staring at us. It must of realized it was spotted and it disappeared, but then it came down to see us." "Ryaque?? Ryaque is that really you!!??" I smiled and nodded. "Hello Kiyomaru..." He ran up and hugged me and started laughing. "I thought you were killed all those years ago..what brings you here now??" I hugged him back and replied. "I am going to invade the Black Horse Head Quarters..but I need your help." He bowed and simply said. "I shall do anything for an old friend such as you."

We had descended from the mountains and started toward the HQ but not without me hearing Mikiko whisper under his breath..."Oh great..competition..the last thing I need..."

Because she doesn't trust anyone completely. So much has happened to her she doesn't want to take the chance of being betrayed but everyone else trusts her completely.

Chapter Five: An Unexpected Delay~

We had been walking for days and I could tell everyone was getting tired. Mikiko and Flara stopped fighting and now where barely able to keep up, Aquamarine and Cinnamon were about to collaspe at any minute, and even Kiyomaru look exhausted. I lead them to a near by waterfall and we rested there for most of the day.

"Wow Ry," Kiyomaru said, "I don't know where you get the energy but I for one am exhausted..." I shrugged and layed down in the grass. To tell you the trueth I was as exhausted as they were, but I didn't want to admit it. A leader has to be stronger then who she is leading..I will never burden others with my pain, and yet I am burdened with their's. That's what being a leader is all about. Mikiko layed down next to me and quietly whispered "Why don't you and I ditch this crowd and go somewhere alittle more secret?" The next thing anyone knew Mikiko was thrown into the water by me. "Back off you two faced dog." I snapped at him then jumped into the trees and ran off. "Great job Mikiko, you just severaly pissed off a cat daemon. You're in for a rough time."

I sat on a branch and watched birds fly around in the trees. There was even the occasional squirrel. If someone stayed in this forest for most of their lives then they would have no idea there is a war going on..it' looks so peaceful. Suddenly out of the bushes a man ran by. He didn't notice me. He just kept running. Seconds later a pack of wolves appeared and followed him. Ryaque..what the hell are you doing? I thought to myself as I jumped from branch to branch and followed them. It didn't take long for me to catch up.

"Help, please, SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!" The man pleaded to no one and kept running. The wolves were following him and catching up fast. "HELP!!!!!" He cried on more time before he tripped and fell. He covered his head and waited for his life to end...he waited and waited..but it never came. He turned to see a girl, no, a daemon standing with her back to him, sword drawn, and she was glaring at the wolves. "What..what..." Was all he said before the girl dove forward and slashed at the wolves. She dismembered them and beheaded them until finally they were all dead. She turned toward him and he finally saw what kind of daemon she was..."You'll be safe now." She said then dissapeared. "Thanks....." Was all she heard.

"Ryaque, you are back!!!" Aquamarine seemed alittle too happy I had returned. "Do anything interesting while you were away?" Kiyomaru asked in a slightly teasing voice. "No.." I replied then sat under a tree and fell asleep.

I was aroused several hours later by voices. "Hey, keep quiet. Maybe it hasn't seen us yet." I heard Mikiko say. "No, there is definitely a human around here...he's looking for us." Aquamarine replied. "Do you think we should wake Ryaque?" Cinnamon asked and pulled out her sword. "No, that girl deserves some sleep..." Then I heard footsteps coming toward us. "Hello?? Hello??!! Is anyone there??" The voice said and I reconized it instantly. I sprang up and pulled out my sword. "It's him again..." Everyone gave me weird looks but I just stared into the dark where the sound was coming from. Finally the man stepped out of the woods and seemed glad to see me but shocked to see everyone else. He held up his hands and backed away. "I'm unarmed...I just want to talk...." Flara snuck up behind him and knocked him out. "Lovely...another dinner." She grabbed his arm and leaned in close but felt a hand on her shoulder. "No Flara, don't eat him..." Again everyone seemed shocked. I picked him up and set him on my bed and smiled. "You're safe with me...." Everyone were as confused as ever but put their weapons away. "Oh no," Cinnamon whispered, "She's bonded...she's lost to us now." Flara shook her head. "No way..no way would Ryaque bond with a human. There's just no way." Aquamarine looked at me, now asleep, and sighed. "Now what?" Mikiko smiled and layed down to sleep. "Now we use that human to make Ryaque do whatever we want her to." Everyone is plotting against her...this could be bad...Kiyomaru thought then went to sleep himself.

The Daemon broke his arm then took his sword and stabbed him, putting him out of his misery. "No...no....Get away from me!!!!" The last boy yelled and turned to run away, but the daemon was quicker. "You fool...." She said then and lobbed the boys head off. "Filthy humans....they can't ever leave me alone can they??" She then tore off a piece of clothing from one of them and sighed. "Daemon slayers...." She put away the sword and started walking from where the boys came from. This war has gone on long enough...now that I've killed two of their people, more will be coming to see what happened. I need to split before I'm seen. The daemon then ran off and dissapeared.

"Sir, what do you think happened here?" A patrol officer asked the person in command. They had stummbled onto the bodies. "The way I see it...this was no ordinary daemon. Have you heard of one named Ryaque?" The lower ranking officer thought for a second then replied. "Yes..she was there when the war started, but didn't she dissapear over 500 years ago??" The leader gave a evil grin. "She's back...and from the looks of these men...stronger then ever. Rally the troops. Tell them to be on the look out for a cat daemon, but no one is to go near it, understand??" He saluted. "Yes, Seargent Wilks." He ran off to carry out the seargents orders. "Ryaque..where ever you go...I'll find you...and I will kill you." He laughed then and walked into the forest.

Chaptor Six: Bonded Or Not~

I awoke the next morning to see the human sitting next to me, staring at me in a funny way. "Thank you for saving me." He said and smiled. I sat up and yawned. "You're welcome. I'm Ryaque by the way." I replied kindly, but my head kept on screaming at me. Ryaque, why are you being nice to him??!! HE'S A HUMAN!!! Oh my god..you bonded with him!!!!! He seemed alittle surprised. "Are you the same daemon that was there when the war started...Ryaque the Mysterious??" I nodded and stood up. "The one and only." He seemed alittle too happy about that, but he must have heard how much I hate humans so he must be alittle happy I'm not eating him right now. "Well, great daemon, my name is Kye." I smiled and bowed. "Pleasure to meet you Kye." Kiyomaru awoke then and smiled. "Good, you two are awake. I have something to tell you..." Mikiko inturrupted them. "So Ry, why are you taking care of a human instead of eatting him?" I glared at him. "Because I saved his life..I'm not going to eat him..." Kye seemed very realived when I said that. "So Ry, did you bond with him or something?" Cinnamon asked the forbidden question. I pulled out my sword and glared at her. "NO!!! I didn't NOT BOND WITH HIM, AND IF ANY OF YOU SAY OTHERWISE I WILL RIP YOU TO PIECES!!!" Aquamarine opened her eyes and asked "If I'm correct..bonding is where a daemon falls uncontrolably in love with a human for no reason at all? Right?" Flara finally sat up, but she wasn't asleep, she was listening to the whole thing. "Yup Ry, it's okay. It happens to a lot of daemons..." Kye seemed confused and looked at me. "You're..in love with me?" I hung my head. "I just saved your life..nothing more. You are nothing but prey to me...but I'm not hungry..for now. The next person who suggests I bonded with Kye is going to taste the metal of my sword..and Kye if you even mention that again you will wish you had been eaten by those wolves..." Everyone grew silent and we pressed on towards the hideout.

"Hey, Lady Ryaque, do you mind if I walk next to you? Everyone else keeps on giving me these weird looks." Kye asked and seemed just alittle bit scared. "Be careful Kye...their hungry." I replied and glared at everyone. They seemed to back off...for now.

"Thank you for saving me." He said and smiled. I sat up and yawned. "You're welcome. I'm Ryaque by the way." I replied kindly, but my head kept on screaming at me. Ryaque, why are you being nice to him??!! HE'S A HUMAN!!! Oh my god..you bonded with him!!!!! He seemed alittle surprised. "Are you the same daemon that was there when the war started...Ryaque the Mysterious??" I nodded and stood up. "The one and only." He seemed alittle too happy about that, but he must have heard how much I hate humans so he must be alittle happy I'm not eating him right now. "Well, great daemon, my name is Kye." I smiled and bowed. "Pleasure to meet you Kye." Kiyomaru awoke then and smiled. "Good, you two are awake. I have something to tell you..." Mikiko inturrupted them. "So Ry, why are you taking care of a human instead of eatting him?" I glared at him. "Because I saved his life..I'm not going to eat him..." Kye seemed very realived when I said that. "So Ry, did you bond with him or something?" Cinnamon asked the forbidden question. I pulled out my sword and glared at her. "NO!!! I didn't NOT BOND WITH HIM, AND IF ANY OF YOU SAY OTHERWISE I WILL RIP YOU TO PIECES!!!" Aquamarine opened her eyes and asked "If I'm correct..bonding is where a daemon falls uncontrolably in love with a human for no reason at all? Right?" Flara finally sat up, but she wasn't asleep, she was listening to the whole thing. "Yup Ry, it's okay. It happens to a lot of daemons..." Kye seemed confused and looked at me. "You're..in love with me?" I hung my head. "I just saved your life..nothing more. You are nothing but prey to me...but I'm not hungry..for now. The next person who suggests I bonded with Kye is going to taste the metal of my sword..and Kye if you even mention that again you will wish you had been eaten by those wolves..." Everyone grew silent and we pressed on towards the hideout. "Hey, Lady Ryaque, do you mind if I walk next to you? Everyone else keeps on giving me these weird looks." Kye asked and seemed just alittle bit scared. "Be careful Kye...their hungry." I replied and glared at everyone.
