By converting one's own body into countless small pieces of paper, they can move freely and have the ability to change form! It has many uses from reconnaissance to surprise attacks. Furthermore, the magical way the countless pieces of paper dance in mid-air, changing shape, gives them a fascinating charm.

*Shikigami, when written as 式神, refer to a kind of spirit summoned to serve an Onmyouji (a kind of sorcerer). These spirits are often depicted as changing into small pieces of paper once harmed or finished with their task. In the name of this technique, the kanji for "god" (神, kami) has been replaced with the kanji for "paper" (紙), which is pronounced the same. This is likely done to emphasise the paper nature of Konan's shikigami and to point out the subtle difference between them and traditional shikigami.

First, contrary to popular belief, Konan does NOT need to keep her head intact in order to use her jutsu. She is able to disperse her entire body, including her head/torso, and retain consciousness :: Source ::

Second, Konan is aware of and able to control each and every single sheet of paper on an individual level regardless of distance, and no matter how many tags or papers she has, from six to six hundred billion, Konan is able to control the motion of each one on an individual level and also alter their appearance and nature.

Her concealment abilities were proven when she had some disguised as a lake, with each piece of paper bearing the perfect appearance of a square inch of water.

This was also proven when she had a tree shielding Nagato with each piece having its own knotholes and striations.

She can hide bombs as paper and paper as bombs, and paper or bombs as anything she wishes, including herself. She can conceal anything. Not even the Sharingan can detect this deception. If Konan hides it, it remains hidden until she says otherwise.

She can make scouting butterflies or clones of herself with the same abilities and awareness as herself. She can manipulate events from far away (have paper at Nagato’s grave and Madara’s fight location simultaneously, conceal Pain and fight in the invasion simultaneously).

For Konan, distance is not an obstacle.

She can lift and disguise things under paper, even entire human beings, like when she was able to have the paper lift Yahiko and Nagato’s corpses.

Her paper is capable of binding humans and rendering them immobile, or cutting them like blades when weaponized. She can have a tag slapped on your legs and detonate it before you even knew what happened, turning you into America's Next Top Nagato.

But that’s not the best part - the best part is that she can do this all simultaneously with seemingly zero exertion on her part. She is the Goddess of Multitasking.

Arsenal ::

On her own, Konan has a lot of paper at her disposal.

It can be infinitely shaped and reshaped into shapes as desired and telekinetically controlled. This is commonly used as shuriken or bladed objects such as spears. Contact with her paper is inadvisable.

The KC has granted Konan the amount of explosive tags on her person when she detonated against Madara. Given that it only takes one or two to absolutely cripple a man, Konan’s chief method of killing would be rationing her tags, overwhelming the enemy with paper and shooting to slap at least one on their face, and detonating it. I lovingly refer to this strategy as the Kiss of Death, or the Post-It Note of DOOM.

Not even Minato would be able to warp away from an explosion that was point blank on his person, should he be foolish enough to engage in a physical skirmish and touch Konan. With hundreds of tags available and the ability to selectively detonate them in any order she wishes or not at all (source :: The level of control used to nuke Madara), Konan, in a standard match situation where she is not foolishly going all out in a single blow, will never run out of explosives with which to decide the match. Swarm, and one tag is all it takes. Slap a single tag on someone who tries to punch her, and boom.

Speed ::

One of the most overlooked portions of Konan’s arsenal is her raw speed. Konan, pre-Madara fight, was never a ninja with evident speed feats given her lack of combat time or panel time in general. However, as unfortunate as her fight with Madara was, it did give her the blessing of speed feats against one of the fastest characters in the manga. The fight with Uchiha Madara brought to light two important kinds of speed feats for Konan.

First, her winged flight speed and maneuverability during Shikigami no Mai are easily respectable in the KC. For starters, Konan’s rush down of Madara is one of the rare occasions where we actually see somebody in high-speed motion while in flight rather than just hovering and/or observing battlefield conditions. Konan has feats which place her in a position of aerial superiority in terms of movement control, speed, and maneuverability compared to most other fliers like Sai’s birds, Sasuke’s Hawk, and Gaara’s Sand Platforms, and Deidara’s birds.

Second, her ability to telekinetically control her individual sheets of paper operates at speeds which are comparable and/or threatening to Uchiha Madara. Notice that Konan was able to operate her paper on such a rapid speed, per sheet, that Uchiha Madara COULD NOT PHASE IN to activate teleportation before he would have been tagged.

This is a major testament to Konan’s speed of paper control. A character surrounded by Konan’s paper cannot, and will not, escape barring extraordinary influence. If you get caught in that swarm, you are screwed.

Durability ::

Or “HOW DO I KILL THIS ?”

Konan’s durability and survivability feats without the use of her Shikigami no Mai (Paper Goddess Dance) techniques are slim to none. The only time that we have ever seen her struck without it on in combat is when she got killed by Madara.

However, Konan’s durability and survivability go through the roof when this technique is activated, making it essentially her own form of Doton: Domu that makes all conventional physical assaults futile and grants her the capability of flight.

During the Paper Goddess Dance, Konan is made of paper. Her entire body is immune to physical assault as long as the technique is maintained. All standard bludgeoning, piercing, slashing, etc. techniques strike and hit only paper. This is assuming she allows the attack to threaten her at all, in lieu of dispersing her body into a cloud of a thousand sheets of paper.

She can also use her paper to tank large scale attacks with no visible damage or exertion.

If she does allow herself to get hit, or cannot disperse to avoid an attack, Konan has the ability to tank the majority of large scale attacks in the KC – she survived the point blank explosion she attempted on Madara with no serious injury whereas Madara himself was grievously injured.

In the majority of conventional combat situations, Konan herself does not sustain any damage to her personage, and when the technique expires she is in good physical condition minus chakra expended cost in fatigue.

In summary, there are only three ways to kill Konan::

1) Kill her before she casts Shikigami no Mai. An exercise in futility.

2) Wait for her to run out of chakra, and kill her when Shikigami no Mai expires. (The Madara Method) However, given that she was only forced to do end her technique after detonating six hundred billion tags for ten minutes and parting an ocean, she easily wins almost any contest of stamina or endurance in the KC.

3) Non-standard KO (Soul Rip, Fuu’s Puppet, Immobilization, Oil Bath, etc) However, any solution that requires physical contact must actually touch her real body. Shiki Fujin attacks and the like would fail due to the inability of the aggressor to maintain a hold on a real body that doesn’t exist, and grasp only lone sheets of paper that separate from Konan’s main form.
Given Konan’s nigh invincibility, a team facing Konan must be prepared to adequately declare how they deal with Konan, or submit to defeat.

Maybe we should all post this to some threads so they will know about her abilities i don't know if they will read it. but i hope so.

That was an amazing post. I enjoyed reading it so much and im not just saying that. I also think that she is immune to most genjutsu too. That made me only love her more. If we lived in the ninja world i would be her apprentice for sure. I wanted to cry when she was dying especially when we see her and her friends progress. At first she could only control a few with her hands. Then she cpuld control even more and provide backup for her friend. Now she is paper and can control thousands. Amd by the way on volume 52 shes on the cover

i'm glad all of you liked it. i had fun reading it too. its pretty long. i post it often so everyone who underrate her will truly know her techniques. they think kami no shisha is her only big technique. that she will lose if she does'nt have prep time for kami no shisha. i think even without kami no shisha she is a very deadly shinobi. hope they read it tough. because it's too long? some might get bored reading it. im really glad you all liked it ((:
BTW SAME HERE. almost cried when i saw her flashback after her death. a true honorable shinobi. with reasons and purposes.

and i'm sad because there were only few ways of killing konan. but kishi did'nt show that. her first appearance she got defeated by her teacher who knew all of her weaknesses. of course she would lose. then the konoha invasion. she faught. but it was'nt a full fight. she barely said any. in my post it said that if anyone comes close to her and punch her she could easily slap a paper and detonate it. makes her so scary but. in the manga. it did'nt show. she could've done more. now she's dead. im so sad for her. wish she's still alive and that she will show her true skills.
