i've been thinking all night about this.what if itachi killed sasuke in the original series? i'm asking how would that change the original line of naruto

It would screw it up majorly. There would be no fight between the two friends. No love interest for Sakura. And everything would be screwy!

The entire series would be messed up and completely different. Itachi would have an organization. He would still be after Naruto. The final clash would probably end up as Itachi versus Naruto. Epic batle but not as good as Sasuke versus Naruto.

Then Naruto would have not had a rival therefore he wouldn't have seen a reason to train with Jiraiya except if he wanted to get revenge on Itachi for killing Sasuke. But that's just me speculating.
