10. Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester and air conditioning.

9. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

8. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavoir. People even may wish to marry their pets because a dog has a legal stand and can sign a marriage contract.

7. Straight marriage has been around for along time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

6. Striaght marriage will be less meaningful if gay marrage were allowed; the sancity of Britney Spears 55-just-for-fun marriage would be destoryed.

5. Straight marriage is valid 'cause the produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples and old people shouldn't be able to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

4. Obviously gay parents raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

3. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values one religion are imposed to the entire country. That is why we have only one religion in America.

2. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model of home. That's why as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

1. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to social names. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy and longer life spans.

I do agree. Gay marriages should be legal in all states. It really is a stupid rule, if two men or women are serious enough that they are willing to get married, they obviously arent faking.

I know I have been trying to get this through peoples' head. Civil rights are flawed. Marirage is a human right, not a heterosexual privilege.

I have two problems with gay marriage. 1: For some reason some like to tell the whole world that they are gay. I don't want to know what goes on in your bedroom so please, don't tell the world. 2: I don't like how they try to teach it in schools to young kids in California and- I think- Massachusetts. Parents and only parents should talk to their kids about things like that.

Name me one upside to marriage not legally afforded you through either health care proxy or legal power of attorney, and tell me that benefit ouweighs the ability of one spouse to declare bankruptcy without affecting the other.

I understand the spiritual involvement, but we are taking about the legal institution of marriage.

Your right, we don't want to know what goes on in your bedroom. I guess that we should outlaw all marriages then, seeing as they will tell us what is going on in the bedroom, shouldn't we?

I can tell you that we do not force teachers to do anything here EXCEPT we don't allow them to discriminate or allow hate crimes to gays.

I would debate the rest but I will save us both the trouble by saying that I believe religious teachings should not be allowed until the child is 16, same age as age of consent as most of what is taught is closed-mindedness.

And for the record I was once in a catholic seminary and was 2 weeks away from being ordained, so please don't call me ignorant.

We sadly will have to agree to disagree.
