I actually do. i am not pro obama or con, i am pro helping people. And this will help people. Whether capitalism or socialism is better is not the question, this bill will help more than it will hurt. It will help out those that need.

Yes, capitalism is wonderful as long as you're lucky enough to be born on the right side of it. Do people deserve to suffer and die because they were BORN into poverty, abuse, drugs, etc? You remind me of my uncle, and that truly disgusts me. It's scary to think people actually think this way.

Yeah, and it will hurt me. I'm middle class, and if this bill passes that's the end of me being middle class. It's obvious the only way they'll get the money for this bill is by raising taxes, and if my taxes raise anymore, I'm screwed.

And this bill passing is the start of socialism.

My entire opinion is formed on facts. Why do you think I posted a link to the bill on this thread? You said (or rather implied) that this bill would raise taxes while simultaneously making you wait longer to see a doctor. Now, I haven't read through the whole bill, but I couldn't find mention of that in the parts that I did read.

The bill isn't meant to drastically increase taxes, it's supossed to make Health Care affordable. It's meant to make people's lives easier, not hurt them in any way.

I am middle class too, i can afford health care, but the person down the street cant and if i can help it then why not. I wont go to her house and say "here is 1000 dollars, go to the doctor and get yourself fixed " but i would not mind paying 15 dollars a paycheck for taxes that will go to helping her get to the doctor. If it doesnt work like that then i would definitely mind. Dude you pay for social security, yet you might never get to use that money, do you agree with social security taxes? Cause i dont.

Do you really think they are going to come out and say that they are going to raise taxes? I doubt they will. Also, look at the wait time in some other countries... Some people have had to wait up to a year for medical help...

A year of waiting is better than what happens in the US. people go their entire life without going to the doctor, whether they have a cold or they have cancer, people (some, a lot of people) have no money to go to the doctors.

If it doesn't say in the bill that they are going to raise taxes, then they aren't going to raise taxes. And since when have people waited for a year for medical help? And what makes you think that that's going to be a part of the bill?

Middle class. Have enough to live but not enough to live "large". You struggle to make dead ends on some months but most of the months you are good. 3 out of 12 months you are shitting bricks because you dont have enough money to pay rent, bills or food to buy. Trust me i know what middle class is, ive been poor twice and it does not compare to where i am standing at right now.

Since when did it say it would force you to wait for medical attention? If it's something serious like cancer they're not just going to make you sit on your butt and die a slow death. That's not the way it works. And why would they even make you wait? They suddenly lose the ability to treat multiple people at once?

I agree. This bill is good idea; we have to do something to help the millions of people in the country who can't afford insurance or medical care. I am all for slightly higher taxes if we actually get something out of it. Think about it; we pay taxes now, but what do we, the common folk, actually get out the bargain? Very little.

They have to get the money for this bill from somewhere, and since our nation is already in debt, odd's are it's going to be coming from taxes.

If you don't have health care, you can't blame anyone else but yourself. I'm not going to be giving up what little spending money I have to let you go see a doctor. Maybe someone who makes a 8 digit figure paycheck will, but I'm not.

Actually, you have to wait in line if you have cancer. You don't move to the "treat right a way" list. The "treat right a way" list is already resevered for politicians.

Actually, since I already have health care, my taxes being higher will make me lose money, not help me if were to get hurt, since I already have health care.
