If you read some of the first couple of english manga volumes, at first it calls him Zolo/Zoro and then switches to the other one

So that means in the version I am reading they started (probably) with Zolo and then switched it to Zoro

The fail-filled 4Kids dub used the name Zolo and I think at one point, the american manga did too. But after that, he was known as Zoro, the way it's supposed to be.

The marines have a book on all devil fruits and the powers they give, it wasa book found on the grandline.

If the Devil Fruit Book belonged to the Marines how did Teach get his hand on it? WhiteBeard with Plot on their side, Oda wouldn't kill the son of Roger and Luffy's Bro so soon. And WB is one of the Major Pirate so WB. Its called the Marines.

Teach had probably overheard someone about the Devil fruit possibly Whitebeard, so he started looking for it. When Teach was a part of Whitebeards crew at this point, he probably overheard that Thatch and WB had found the Yami fruit that he was looking for and killed Thatch for it, ate it, and then ran away.

I mean, Teach is the one badass pirate in OP.
