He is so mysterious the first episode he says nothing about himself but he still manages to stay one of the best chracters ever had a question about him, I have for one How did Kakashi get the mangekyo sharingan and who did he have to kill . I hope this question and many more are answered

your questions will probably be answered in the new team 7 episode (staring young Kakashi) coming out in August. The episode is called Kakashi Chronicles, right when you go on this site you'll see a picture of team 7.

The way to get Mangekyo is to kill your best friend...I'm sure you know this.
Maybe Kakashi blamed Obito's death on himself and obtained the Sharingan. I don't know...

Maybe he obtained it from Zabuza it seemed like they knew each other somehow or Kakashi just famous for "The Copy Ninja"

i read somewhere that kakashi's mangekou (spelling?) sharingan is different from itachi's(**keep in mind that they do operate differently). apparantly the strong greif that about obito and rin triggered this version of the sharingan.

I don't think Kakashi obtained the Mangekyo over the loss of Obito and Rin. If so, then he would have had the Mangekyo a long time ago. I have no idea how he got it, though. ^_^"

i think he thought he killed obito. kakashi fell. rock falling... obito pushes kakashi out of the way. obito is squashed.

It IS indirectly his fault.

Thanks. I usually get good feedback on my theory. It may be waay off, but until proven otherwise, this is how I believe he activated it.

It doesn't say in the cronicles. Of course, her fate is implied in the manga.

Rin's fate after this is unknown. She is assumed to have died, as Kakashi has indicated that all those close to him were dead. Another implication of her death is in Kakashi's last thoughts before he fell against Pain, lamenting on the fact he failed to protect her.
